I purchased P3D and installed it along with FTXGlobal, My Traffic X Pro, Aerosoft Airbus Extended, and the PMDG 737. My performance was less than my FSX install. I uninstalled it and reinstalled FSX. I have a spare 160 GB velociraptor HD that I'm going to install P3D and try to mirror my FSX install to see which version performs best.

When you say performance, what is the benchmark? FPS? stutters? Texture? Memory Usage?

 

P3D will not give you more FPS than FSX, it will give you stability. Don't forget also, autogen of Very Dense in FSX is equivalent to Dense in P3D, so if you think you need to have the same settings to compare, you are doing it wrong.

 

the only fsx addon i am aware of that does not work with P3D is the Flight1 Cessna Citation Mustang jet, while using the the FSX2P3D migrator tool did installed it, it lacks the virtual 3D cockpit. everything else seems to work, even Flight1's Ultimate traffic.

Have you modified your anti aliasing setup? That is really odd and unfortunate.

It was a short test at best. I'm going to reinstall and work with it. I purchased P3D and upgrades for some of my addons so it wouldn't make sense to just abandon it. I appreciate the help.

My performance in P3D is on par with FSX. Same addons, same config. Little bit smoother than FSX at same FPS, as already mentioned.
