  1. that list includes many features I have been waiting for in plane10 from day 1, now it really pays to get the best graphics card money can buy, be it xplane or P3D "and they have no Linux version." and no MAC either  fundamental difference: P3D is still 32 bit, but that doesn't necessarily have to mean anything. time will tell. the heat is on.
  2. great times lay ahead for all of us in the flight simulation community: after the flawed FLIGHT, here comes a new challenger XP10.30 versus P3D v2 this will be a great fall and christmas
  3. MATERIAL DELETED AS IT VIOLATES LOCKHEED MARTIN BETA TESTING LICENSE. USER SUSPENDED.
  4. "These planes IRL are not owned by a loving individual that will clean the heck out of it," and they are not operated by mouse and joystick. thanks for reminding me ;-)
  5. "and cockpits spotless" spot on I would also prefer at least one repaint variety with a like-new cockpit. I have never allowed any passenger in my plane to bring food and would polish and enjoy cleaning and wax her nearly as much as flying.
  6. "We'll consider adding these pictures up soon." thanks, it would probably turn me into a customer
  7. I was referring to the sales site at http://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/take-command-saab-340a-p-100.html not a single night cockpit illumination screenshot there. I don't see what EADI, systems depth etc. have to do with cockpit graphics. I was looking for a turboprop that has it all. or is it necessarily XOR? If the developer or xaviation would show some of their cockpit night illumination it would help more than arguing.
  8. I also did not see a single night light cockpit screenshot in that Saab gallery. night lighting or twilight flying is where xplane outshines fsx. "enjoy your Carenado fleet of aircraft." especially their cockpit illumination at night is fantastic. I haven't seen a single one for the Saab yet.
  9. from the screenshots posted the cockpit looks somewhat sterile and artificial to me. somehow it lacks that Carenado-beautiful and pretty artist style. everything seems to be that same plastic grey tone. otherwise I would have purchased it.
  10. fortunately we have someone like Alpenpilotx who provides such fantastic scenery! Those mountain forests could look even more realistic if there was some variation in tree colors (like autumn leaves). the current implementation appears too homogenous. any chance for a change? thanks for such breathtaking scenery! something to look forward to during those long winter days.
  11. my grand father was in Rhodes last year my uncle will be in con-Crete next month.
  12. the only fsx addon i am aware of that does not work with P3D is the Flight1 Cessna Citation Mustang jet, while using the the FSX2P3D migrator tool did installed it, it lacks the virtual 3D cockpit. everything else seems to work, even Flight1's Ultimate traffic.
  13. " The "Fly now" option seems hit and miss." if that is the real reason for the problem, then that message is misleading and should not appear. just unneccessarily adding to the ever more complex hunt for bugs, on the other side, I am again enjoying stutterfree mostly steady 30 fps with antialiasing, cockpit shadows and HDR on, something I could not achieve in fsx
  14. oh happy day all of a sudden, everything is working again, though I didn't change anything, except restart xplane. wonder why it was happening, since xplane asked after the update "run xplane?" from within the updater. maybe better to restart fresh anyway.
  15. now my xsaitek panels don't work anymore, 'G' key to lower/raise gear doesn't do anything, many other keys also inactive, RADIO and all electrical instruments don't work anymore on my Carenado C172 and F33. I do hear ATC radio though. no more gear up/down animation in spot view, though I can activate gear with mouse button. I assume it has to do with only the electrical system malfunctioning. all instruments that are electrically driven are blank or inop, the others like compass and airspeed and V/S indicator do work. I already restored my complete PREFERENCES folder from my previous backup but no avail. I had the same problem with 10.22 beta and successfully restored from a previously working complete xplane 10.21 backup. anybody got an idea whats going on?
  16. what a "plausible" argument. I don't like Ford automobiles, do I need the skills to build one before I may dislike them? you don't like fsx, can you program another flightsim? the texture quality is just not of the high standards compared to TruScenery, Wilmington and some others, even in the xplane market. FlightBeam is a single developer. this is the quality we would need in xplane: http://www.flightbeam.net/kiad.html http://www.flightbeam.net/
  17. screenshots and ground textures remind me of FS5 style Las Vegas, far from TruScenery quality or compared to latest Flightbeam or FlyTampa fsx scenery addons. I'll save my 20$ for better quality.
  18. Formosa Airlines, not so Famoso: 9 crashes in 15 years: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formosa_Airlines
  19. "and a yaw-effect when not compensated for." seems they must have built that aircraft with plane maker.
  20. exactly. and it appears all these 4 issues could be implemented with that Simul weather SDK. it would leave Laminars developers more time for other flight sim related features that are missing, instead of fiddling with something others have specialised in and are more experienced with.
  21. relax. 1) if it was already used in xplane, I wouldn't need to point out to some advanced new weather technology that could be implemented in xplane that was not mentioned here before. 2) it is not advertising, as you can not buy and include it in xplane. the video is a technology demonstration, just like talk about new and upcoming CPU's, operating systems etc. 3) the most advanced weather and cloud SDK does not belong in a "cloud rendering" thread. ok, got it.
  22. unfortunately, no one except Laminar themself could implement it, it can not be done from the outside as an addon, otherwise I would have done it already. but I brought this up to gain support for this high quality feature, perhaps a petition similar to Laminars own "patent infringement" petition would help.
  23. Alpipilot glad at least someone understands why I posted this, unlike some ignorants over here: http://forum.avsim.n...g/page__st__250 your question is valid and the same I had, but considering they claimed 60Hz already on a pc 4 years ago and it supports multicore, I assume it would be marginal and much more performant than what we get currently in xplane. lets not forget x-plane framerate breaks down if you move your cloud sliders to the right and still does not look half as good. the Simul weather SDK could be implemented easily as it is multi platform. it is so good, INTEL invited them to demo it in their booth at Game developers conference. instead of paying for weather addons that can never deliver what Simul weather SDK achieves, I would prefer Laminar to use that SDK and include that feature right out of the box. I am not the only one who was impressed when I first saw it: "to see Simul’s new tools and technology for dynamic skies and volumetric weather effects. Intel have kindly hosted Simul on their stand today, which features a selection of the best high-performance software for games, running on the latest multi-core Intel processors." I am sure Muskoka, myself and many others would gladly pay 100$ if it was available as an addon product for xplane. Imagine how much better xplane would look. no other flight simulator could compete weather wise. p.s. thanks for your fantastic landscape contribution to x-plane64, we love it!
  24. thanks for your kind -lesson- shall we say. "I take it you have a commercial interest in this product" unfortunately not, but I wish I did. if you read my post carefully, you'll see I was quoting an article. the only interest I have in that product is a flightsimulator with such outstanding weather features, and I take it from this thread,I am not the only one. your nr.1 Bitdefender is known for problems, but you can read that up elsewhere, it doesn't belong in a weather thread: http://technicallyea...n-is-untrusted/
  25. perhaps you need a better antivirus program? and who cares if you want any part of it, as long as INTEL (you might have heard about them?) wants that product. "Head over to the Intel® stand, #1212 at the GDC 2010 Expo to see Simul’s new tools and technology for dynamic skies and volumetric weather effects. Intel have kindly hosted Simul on their stand today, which features a selection of the best high-performance software for games, running on the latest multi-core Intel processors. We’re part of a big seven-page advertorial by Intel in this month’s Develop magazine. For more information on Simul Weather – go here." http://www.simul.co.uk
