Hi All

Well the more I look the harder my choice is becoming on what to get!

I started on thinking about Ezdok to change the default camera's in FSX and posted a topic earlier this week on peoples thoughts on Ezdok and a couple of people mentioned Opus so after checking some video's on youtube  i'm now stumped.

I already have REX for my weather but have a few issues with that knocking my autopilot out when it loads weather and I don't really like the way it clears the weather every time it updates which for me is about every couple of mins but I do like the REX textures,so my problem is now do I go with EZdok or Opus.

What's better on fps as far as weather is concerned and my original thing is the camera's as far as head movement and ground vibration while taxiing

Think i'll start a poll purely for my own benefit and see who uses what

One product........... one word......... Opus.

Just to be sure (considering what you said but also the options in your poll): you do know you can use the REX textures with the Opus weather engine...? Simply install the REX textures you like and don't start REX anymore until you decide to use other textures.

I btw voted for OpusFSX, which I use for weather and cams, but I do use REX for textures (clouds and skies only): I only start REX whenever I have reinstalled FSX. I never ever run the program anymore after that because I like the REX textures I've chosen. I also know there are people who use REX for textures, OpusFSX for weather and EZDOK for cams, which is an option that's missing from your poll, which made me wonder if you do know about using REX textures with another weather engine. ;)

Yea I did know but didn't want to ask to many questions and would still use REX for my textures.I believe there's also a freeware cloud texture HDE v2 but not looked at that

thanks for voting still no real idea yet on what option I will go with as yet  lol

Love the Opus DHM bumping my TrackIR-equipped head around, along with the squeaks and groans of Accufeel v2.1 (with turbulence physical effects off so as not to conflict with Opus).  ^_^

You have forgotten an important weather program. The latest kid on the block: FS Global Real Weather. That and EZdok is the combo I use for the moment.

Hi Mosteen

Didn't want to overcomplicate the poll as it was mostly for my own benefit and I already have REX so  the poll was more to decide on a camera weather combo for me without having to buy to many different programs ie do I buy ezdok purely for the camera effects  or opus and change the weather part of rex and use opus plus its cameras.

I've already thought of another couple of questions but will leave that for now

I get you mate, thought you didn't know :) Rex as wx engine I had to cap for a long time ago, could not get it to work with PMDG aircraft. Opus cameras I did not fancy, at the time I used it it was stuttering when changing views, EZdok is silky smooth.

But alot of updates have been released for Opus after that and I would guess this has been solved. Cheryl and Stephen from Opus Software offers awesome support and a very fast development schedule.

Scratch one vote for REX as weather program, I voted for both AS and REX, and only after submitting my vote I recognized that REX's only purpose on my computer is the textures. For weather I use AS (and occasionally pre-set ORBX themes).

Opus for live weather and REX for the textures.

The poll didn't have an exact option for what I use and am happy with:
Opus for Live Weather Engine (can't beat it's cloudy weather depiction)

REX for Textures

EZDok for Camera
