NickN seems to be totally mistaken... ;)

Jeroen, thank you for your kind reply, a lesson in my book to all who think attacks are the way to go as opposed to civilized discussions.

I apologize sincerely to to you and all here as my frustration lies more with all the "Are we there yet", and "you owe me" posts.

Too much hate and anger, and very little precious kindness and as far as patience goes, you can forget that ever existed.

As far as your English goes, it is far better than a lot of native speakers believe me.

:drinks:

Thank you once more! And there really is no need for apologies because I do understand where your post came from. I'd like to add that you did make me think about responsibility (I noticed I forgot to react to your remark about that). Even though I think responsibility in this regard has more to do with quality than quantity  , starting this topic probably wasn't my best idea up to date: it would have been better if I simply posted the facts (and nothing more) in the already existing topic about all this. Ah, well. you're never old enough to learn. ^_^ (But er... sometimes you just don't WANT to learn, like when acting dumb is simply more fun... B) )

I read NickN's answers in Alain's post on Simforums. Interesting posts over there. I am seriously beginning to wonder if what I said was true or not LOL  I understand his points but still am in doubt if what he says now was what he said initially. Maybe I should give him the benefit of the doubt.

I do have to say my view upon it all was of course colored by my enthusiasm about FTXG and FTX products in general, not meaning that I will blindly love everything they do (which I don't) and blindly hate all the rest (which I also don't), like a true ###### would, ^_^ but with that I mean to say that I couldn't care about any problems that might arise due to Orbx's way of doing things because I don't plan on using or buying anything else but Orbx addons. But I guess that was clear and obvious from the start.

Anyway, as I said I was simply having some fun during a few days off: yesterday I posted "starting this topic probably wasn't my best idea up to date". Today I maybe should say I actually regret it all. (Yes, I'm going all soft here LOL B) ) Sometimes you tend to forget there are real people on the other side of the internet.

I'm confused - this whole topic was started for fun, because you had a few days off?

LOL No, not BECAUSE of that, but I wasn't as serious as some people took it and if I had been at work I might not have spend so much time on all this. I started this topic because in my opinion NickN was wrong about something and I wanted to warn people about it. But I did have a lot of fun with all the discussions about it... But I hope it is clear by now that I regret this all more and more day by day. ^_^ In fact, that's what I just said to NickN on Simforums.

Character Assassination for fun during time off.

What do you for a living?

LOL Don't worry, I don't have a job in healtcare or any other job that puts the life of others in your hands.

With all due respect, with all that's been going on, surely after 7 years, and nearly 6k posts, you are bound to know how it would come across, and the effect this kind of topic would have?

Ok I will rephrase it - you started this topic for fun WHILE you had a few days off?

point is (and you did not correct me on this part) you started this topic FOR FUN!

Oh my, we're going deep into semantics here. ^_^ I imho did correct you but if you don't feel I did, well, I can't help that. I feel no need to keep on repeating myself here (which also goes for the 7 years, 6k posts, something I also reacted to earlier on). ^_^

Scattered amongst the blather at the Flight1 forums was this little tidbit;

"I do not have time to go through and read threads at AVSIM although I will get links sent to me for specific posts from time to time at which point I may follow through..."

Coupled with "...why I had my username removed by my personal request years ago." and the "...nor have I ever signed onto a forum under a false username..."

I signed out before I came into the forum. All that is visible is The Guest Forum. How does someone check out specific posts in the Avsim forum if they are not a member, no matter the name?

As an orange colored member here, I am at times embarrassed and dismayed at the false proclamations given out by other orange or would-be orange colored if they were members of the community here and how it might influence people's opinions of orange colored members who are upfront, honest, truthful and not driven by some agenda of deceit, revenge or fear mongering.

People can believe what they want, for whatever reason they chose. But with all the bluster and blather, there is still the truth and in the end, the truth always wins out.

Because of server problems AVSIM only recently started requiring members to sign in to view forum posts.

NickN just posted (3 minutes ago) that he registered to this forum in order to follow the various topics... Since he said he never used false usernames he must be one of Nick's that registered lately but didn't post anything. He did indeed give the impression he wasn't a member here but that was not what he actually said: he said he had his username removed by personal request. It IS a bit odd he posted he did become a member again AFTER meshman posted what he did.... but well...

P.S. I also posted about this on his forum because I am done with talking about someone without addressing that person directly too. ^_^ Another thing I learned from Alain LOL

I have a suggestion for you guys that just comes from a sad thought that soured this thread.

To see friends, or at least pleasant acquaintances dividing over the splitting and re-splitting of motives for writing this or that seems so... plain stupid. Why would you let something so "abstract" drive a wedge between you?

Here we are, many of us having a refuge of an inordinate time spent in a social forum (yes Avsim is mostly social with wings drawn on), and we began to let our (own) angst that drive many here in the first place, sneak in and ruin it.

A sad business indeed when we fight over such feelings of neediness! I myself try to resolve (emphasis on try) any issues I have before trying to take tongs and pluck out a piece of fuzz out of someone else's cotton candy.

Kind regards,

Wise words. I presume... because for someone whose native language is NOT English your posts from the last few weeks are becoming a bit hard to follow, Stephen, using all kinds of words usually only found in poems and old literature, forcing me to use online dictionaries more and more... ^_^ But after reading it three times (without using a dictionairy) I think I know what you mean. So yes, wise words.

Any conclusion on this thread please?
