777 High-Low Chime and EGPWS Test

Featured Replies

I am not too familiar with the 777, and as such have been using this site: http://www.meriweather.com/flightdeck/777/over-777.html, to familiarize myself before release. I can't seem to find the attend button to call the FA's like on the 737, though. Also, I can't seem to locate a button for the EGPWS self-test. Where exactly are these located on the 777, if it even has them at all?

You use the handset and use the numeric key to dial an attendant station.

I think that test is automatic.

The only preflight tests you need to do as flight crew on board the 777 is Fire Test (Overhead panel) - Oxygen test and some airlines do the TCAS test (some don't require it). All that other stuff is done by maintenance. Unlike the NG you have to do every test under the sun  :lol:

Yep, the 777 has very few tests. The EPGWS one has to be specifically triggered by maintenance and is not accessible to the pilots.

Talking about this, I'm looking for a sound file of the ACARS Chime (an Hi-Low, the one you here on this video at 00:05

I'd want to put it as text ring on my phone :P :P

Thanks for the link.

I found it, but it is not an exact replica.

The first chime is a bit lower, and I don't feel the same "music" as in the original;

Thank you anyway ;)

This isn't hard to create at all in simple audio editing suites, but I have no idea how to get it on your iPhone.  Eff me right?

For this purpose it's pretty darn good to me! I've been using it for almost a year now and I still love it every time.

When the 777 comes out I'd like to hear how they implement it.

I know I've heard it used as the CABIN SECURED chime.
