August 19, 201312 yr Friends of the FSX world, I need help re-starting FSX. All was well using REX, FTXFSG, UT and just about everything else.. I mean I was on top of the world with all my goodies running flawlessly, but finally today after trying to add a mod to CS 737-200 panel and then after restarting of FSX I noticed that the 737 was no longer showing up in my airplane files. While going back to "free flight" FSX hung up and had to do alt-shift-delete. When I tried to restart FSX I got the dreaded message to make your heart skip a beat.. "FSX has stopped Working". Years of tweaking, all the software I have now, and how well the ole computer has been running just went up in smoke. I was thrown into a nightmare hoping it is just a dream but it is now reality,FSX has stopped working on my computer. 1. Tried several things to get back up and going, first deleted CS CS737 from FSX - still problem 2. reset my time back one day - still problem 3. tried new FSX.cfg - no go 4. Renamed "logbook" in my documents - no go 5. Rebooted computer several times - no go. 6. Changed to run as Administrator - Nope Most of the time when I try restart it runs about 15 seconds and then the message comes up and have to close down. I am running out of things to try. I hope it is something simple but I sure could use your HELP in a fix to avoid a total reinstall. August 19, 201312 yr Have your tried to move the dll.xml file to another folder and check that you haven't any conflict with a dll file?
August 20, 201312 yr Author Since I am plowing into new ground with the dll.xml file, is there any particular folder I should move it to. There are other named dll.xml files present with older dates. I guess if I renamed one of them to "dll.xml" it might make things worse? August 20, 201312 yr Carl, To best edit the dll.xml, download notepad + http://notepad-plus-plus.org/ Then once installed, right click on the dll.xml and in the menu, seleect open with notepad+ Go to edit, in NP+ and select all, copy, and paste in this thread and we can check it for you. Ignore the other dll.xml's, they are just backups, which can be used in an emergency. August 20, 201312 yr I had a similar problem a few days ago after FSX crashed when I clicked on the Pilot log.(The error log showed it was a stack hash error) Renaming the log book didn’t work either. What solved my problem was deleting the fsx.cfg file and renaming the Flight Simulator X Files folder. C:\Users\<YOUR NAME>\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files renamed to FSX_Files_Corrupted It probably was a corrupt default save or startup file. You should probably also move the CS 737-200 Aircraft folder to another place while you test. Later, after a successful startup I reapplied the fsx.cfg tweaks (himemfix, etc) Hope that helps. Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.

August 20, 201312 yr This is not a dll file, its text from a file - need to know what you installed and how you did it, Without having the files you tried to load or copy over, tough to figure out what you have done, Is it a zip file with files that needed to be placed somewhere and also assuming you needed to add some lines to a cfg file such as the panel cfg file - I think you did not install this properly you may have edited a file that had nothing to do with CS aircraft which means an uninstall would not help you. Post a screenshot of the contents of the zip file if you can Rich Sennett
August 20, 201312 yr Author Ramon, Sure was hoping this was the one that would work but within 10 seconds the FSX not starting message stopped it. Thanks for trying to help.. August 20, 201312 yr Then we shall keep going until we nail the problem. Aside from the dll.xml data, can you post the error report from the event viewer if present? It would be under Windows Logs -> Application. Cheers. Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
August 20, 201312 yr Author Guys,I apologize that as you can see I am not to good posting zips, etc. I will try to read some in the morning trying to communicate with you and supply better information tomorrow. I tried posting the zip file but still had some problems. I do know the instructions were straight forward. However when you get past 70 you do have senior moments. I might have at one time put something in the wrong folder. The instructions that I followed are as follows:1. Create a new folder in C:\..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B737-200\panel\V-One AND/OR in C:\..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B737-200ADV\panel\V-One2. Place the contents from the 'panel\V-One' folder into this/these new folder(s).3. Place the contents from the 'Gauges' folder into C:\..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Gauges.4. Create a new folder in C:\..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Sound\V-One5. Place the contents of the 'Sound\V-One' folder into this new folder.6. Place the contents from the 'Fonts' folder into C:\..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Fonts.Once again thanks to all trying to get me through this situation I got myself into. Final note, I did move the dll.xml file to desktop but FSX still stopped with same old message. August 20, 201312 yr Me thinks you have something messed up, you really need to be comfortable with the computer to do all of this, going to be hard to figure out what has been changed or added in the wrong place Carl Easier to read 1. Create a new folder in C:\..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B737-200\panel\V-One AND/OR in C:\..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B737-200ADV\panel\V-One 2. Place the contents from the 'panel\V-One' folder into this/these new folder(s). 3. Place the contents from the 'Gauges' folder into C:\..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Gauges. 4. Create a new folder in C:\..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Sound\V-One 5. Place the contents of the 'Sound\V-One' folder into this new folder. 6. Place the contents from the 'Fonts' folder into C:\..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Fonts 3. Place the contents from the 'Gauges' folder into C:\..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Gauges. Delete these gauges you may have added - make sure you only delete the Captainsim gauges you put in this folder "4. Create a new folder in C:\..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Sound\V-One" Delete this V-one folder, things like this will not be uninstalled which can be part of your problem "6. Place the contents from the 'Fonts' folder into C:\..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Fonts" This one could be a problem too a font can be a problem also, the fonts if you placed them in the correct folder delete them out of there to see if that helps Ok off to bed want to see this is fixed in the morning lol good luck Rich Sennett

August 20, 201312 yr Author Rich, I checked and double checked to make sure all files changes were put in the correct folders. The gauge mentioned was only one sound file going into the main gauge folder. I have deleted all changes as shown in the instructions, uninstalled and reinstalled with no problem making sure no left over files remained. Also checked adjacent plane folders to make sure nothing was mistakenly put into a wrong folder. Still FSX stops. I can't even get fsx to start by trying to set up a new fsx config.
