Hey guys, Is it possible to use AES at airports that don't have scenery? Or at just a default airport?

No, u need GSX for that

ah I see.

AES only works at supported airports and you have to pay for (almost) every airport you want to use it on. GSX is a MUCH cheaper option because it simply works everywhere (too maybe not as perfect or detailed as AES does).

Can both be installed and used? When I say both I Don't meant at the same time. Lol if I want to use AES at an airport, then land and use fsx for example? Cheers Wayne.

Sure! If your airport is AES-equipped and AES-activated you can choose between AES and GSX every time. Pls. note that a AES-supported airport can't move jetways other than by the AES hotkey. If it's a non-AES-ready airport the default FSX key command does work.

Short form: No moving jetways at AES airports when using GSX solely. (But you can use AES for the jetways only, and have all the other stuff handled by GSX!)

Thanks.

how does the fueling work? Does it automatically do your fuel ?

In AES the fuel truck is just a visual addition and does not prompt any fueling.

With GSX, and the appropriate setting selected in the Couatl settings, the calling of the fuel truck will bring up the default FS Fuel page when the fuel truck arrive. You can also just use the GSX fuel truck for visual addition by disabling a setting. This will be useful when PMDG bring back the refueling option in the 777 (was present in the MD11).

Does the AES entry need to be on top of everything in the scenery.cfg file?

Yeah it looks like it. Mine is, just put it up there anyways.

If you run AESHelp it'll check your scenery library and place AES on the very top. From what I've noticed it doesn't really matter where AES is placed. But if you encounter any issues start AESHelp as a first means for troubleshooting and let it place AES on top, then try again.

To make it clear/fair: over 50 FSX aerodromes require no AES credits.

Here's the list where it can be checked but those interested: http://www.aerosoft2.de/downloads/aes/aesairports.html

Ah, ok, thanks. So AES works on around 500 airports and for 10% of those you have to pay nothing. To make it also clear/fair: GSX works (in theory) on all ± 24.000 FSX airports plus every possible addon airport...  ^_^
