Well guys, although I think the PMDG MD-11 has some of the best ambience and switchgear sounds seen in FS, I agree that the engine sounds themselves weren't particularly inspiring..

 

So I bought the TSS MD-11 PW (HD) sound pack for FSX yesterday and my word!!!!

 

The growl and the fun on take-off is fantastic! ...... heavily recommended! .. Have to fly the P&W variants all the time now!

I personally think the PMDG MD-11 does not need any update.

 

Adding HD textures etc would only degrade performance for a lot of people, and it's currently super smooth with fantastic frames (meaning we can use it in complex airports, and weather).

 

Somethings are just perfect as they are - and the PMDG MD11 is one of them.    I sooooo much prefer this to the NGX. I just find it far more interesting and the sounds, visuals and flight handling characteristics are beautiful.

I don't know how I missed that sound pack for so long Chris! .... Loving flying the MD-11 at the moment.  It will be hard to put her down when the T7 is released!

My speakers and subwoofer get an extra volume boost when flying the MD-11 with PW engines (sorry Markus!)

Im very happy with the MD-11 at its present state, its much better than having nothing at all, thought after T7 release its going to be hard to fly both :lol:

I own the NGX, the J41 and the MD11 but it's the MD11 that's bit and got my interest as its a quirky aircraft like the B377.

Do you recommend the TSS sounds for the MD-11? I got one of their sound packs a few years ago for the LSH MD-82 and they were outstanding.
