I'd guess not!

No use for it if with FS2Crew?

Thanks,

Dirk.

I've had the checklists/copilot enabled alongside FS2Crew for a couple of flights. I use the active copilot with Dave's voices and voice-command a lot of stuff like the FCU settings during flight. That way I hear my preferred voices and, at the same time, use speech recognition for the panels (and for VoxATC).

But replacing FS2Crew voices: No way; no separate wav files; They're embedded in the FS2Crew code. (The two 'vocabularies' wouldn't match, anyway.)

Interesting, so you use FS2Crew for voice control and FS2Crew timer events, but check lists are AEX stock with Dave's mod, don't you?

I don't run the FS2Crew timer (it's "stalled" with the 'before start procedures'). It would interfere with the AAX stock flows and C/L items.

The rest is correct: Default AAX flows and C/Ls; Dave's voice mods and some "remote control" of the A/C (by issuing voice commands to the FS2Crew F/O).

Sounds good to try this way,

Dirk.

FS2Crew is absolutely amazing  ... but it's also quite a commitment in time and focus to do everything, the proper way on every flight (sometimes we all want to be a bit lazy!).

So although I don't own the FS2Crew for the Airbus, I do own it for the NGX and often take the same approach as Olli  - just use certain aspects, while not following the full regime.

To do some justice to FS2Crew:

- You can fast forward the 30 min countdown.

- You can skip early flight phases and start with, for example, the T/O phase.

- With the default AAX flows, the F/O either does too much (active F/O; doing things the PF is supposed to do, like deciding on raising the L/G without being told to do so) or too little (passive F/O; not even performing his own share of tasks, leaving those to the PF, as well)

- FS2Crew does things just a little better: like the baro setting cross-check.

But the new F/O replacement voice is just too good ...

('Im not criticizing the Captain's voice, Dave!!!)

Oh it's absolutely awesome! ..... I love all of Bryan's work, and I have about 8 editions I think, for various aircraft.

I';ve just not punted for the Airbus edition yet as I was in two minds, with it already having such a good interaction system integrated into it.....  but I must admit, having Voice Control is tempting!

Good work , Dave.  Will the Canadian pilot say "eh?"  Given that Airbus is making steady sales progress in the U.S., it will be a welcome addition.

I think I'd decided he was a Newfie, so he might just say things like ;-

Go on 'by!

'Ows ya gettin' on maid?

Ya got more tongue than a Logan!

What'ya at?

or;

You can take the 'by out of the bay, but you can't take the bay out of the 'by!

PS.... If anyone is thinking, what the heck is he on about?.... just Google 'Newfoundland dialogue'

Joking apart, the aim is for him to have a pretty generic North American accent.

Hi. May I ask what happened to this project and where are the files located today? The link at the start of thread does not work.

I am interested in having several voice choices, not out to offend anybody.

Was this FO pack meant to replace the pleasant-sounding lady reading off the checklist or was it MCE (which I don't use)?

New to the Airbus, sorry for my noobness.

EDIT: I did search the library here.

Hi,

This voice pack was withdrawn due to a lack of interest when I released it.  To be honest it was not up to the standard of the British Captains Voice Pack, nor the Irish Ground Crew.    I am not a native North Amercican so the voice acting was not the most credible and I decided to withdraw the pack.

The best bet for a North American Voice Pack for the Airbus, would be a native North American doing it.

Cheers.

Fair enough. Thanks for the response, Dave. If I had more time I would love to do it. I think all it takes is time, recording/editing software, and a microphone but I may be way off - not thinking it through enough. Is that about right?

I am originally from Arizona and now live in New Mexico (for those of you who are geography challenged, there is actually a U.S. state named after Mexico). I've been around the block and I have concluded that I do not have any accent. No southern drawl, no ethnic pronunciations, etc. I am willing to give it a go (that's not the way we talk out west either, BTW) when I can find some time.

Off-topic - When I first bought PFE, I was thrilled with the local accents of the controllers depending on the airspace I was flying in. That is the main reason I fly with PFE over RC4 when I am flying non-US airspace.

Pardon my ignorance. I see the support forum has a script and an invitation to share our results. I will see what I can do - southwestern US voices. Anyone have some sets from back east available?

New York, Boston, Virginia voice sets would be a treat! What about you, Texas?
