727-Captain Sim or Dreamfleet?

Featured Replies

HI ALL, I just saw that the fellas over at Dreamfleet will be releasing thier 727 soon. Man, It looks like a fantastic package! My question to you guys.....I already own the awesome Captain Sim 727 and am very happy with it...Do any of you CS owners plan on grabbing the Dreamfleet version when she comes out? I hadn't seen anyone pose this question yet, so's I figured I'd be the first. Tks much!!Tony P.

Hi,I

Hi,The Dreamfleet plane comes with a Reality XP weather radar as well...I own the CS one, and although good ( at version 1.5 ! )it looks like this will be fantastic.Paul Golding and the team have been working on it for a long long time.... my expectations are high.... and I am confident this package will meet them.Cheers,Paul ( SPIM )

Hi Tony,As a real life 727 maintainer, I would be remiss if I didn't buy the Dreamfleet DF727. It does look good but I will leave comparisons out until the bird is in my hangar ;-) . BTW, I do own the CS727.Cheers,JohnBoeing 727/737 & Lockheed C-130/L-100 Mechanichttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg

I got lots of enjoyment out of the CS727, but it is a bit outdated with the FDE and panel crispness. Its a perfect FS2002 airplane but not FS9. I am going to pick up the 727 as there aren't many PMDG quality jets with all the features and a high quality VC. Can't wait for the freighter version!

Tony,>> Do any of you CS owners plan on grabbing the Dreamfleet version when she comes outYes, immediately, I can't wait for the DF727. The CS727 is certainly not bad, but I don't really like it. Hard to read gauges, inaccuracies and without wanting to discuss it : The flight dynamics are not my cup of tea as well.Of course it is only based on looking at screenshots, but I get the impression the DF727 is much more made with the pilot in mind (e.g. much bigger gauges, practical panel arrangement), while for CS obviously eye-candy seems to have the highest priority.Nice touch to get the weather radar additionally. I hope Flight1 doesn't wait that long after the ATR release. The real simmers buy both anyway ;)Michael

Hello All, Well, it will become very obvious at the bottom of this post that I am very biased. I'll say just this, the beta version IS in my hanger, and it's been the best beta, (2 versions and 1 final to go), that I've ever encountered. My suggestion: Wait, you'll not be disapopointed!Best to all,Claywww.dreamfleet2000.com/Previews/727/preview_home.html|http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/Forum_Banners/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. I'll probably buy the DF727 after some reviews come in. I have the CS727 and while fairly nice, I haven't yet come to grips with the flight model...I just can't seem to bring it in for a smooth and stable landing to save my life. Maybe that's the real plane, maybe not. I have no idea. I can land the PMDG737 on a dime, but not the CS727.Hopefully the DF727 will be a bit more stable in that respect.

Kewl Beans, Thanks for the replys guys.....Think I'll be setting aside the $$$ for the DF727. I didn't mention before but I own several DF aircraft and have always been absolutely satified with them, and it looks as this one will top them all....:-) Tony P.

I can't wait to see if there are working windshield wipers in the VC with all weather effects and a great freighter version with a few repaints!

I'd have to say go with the Dreamfleet 72.The CS 72 has a poor flight model which requires replacement to get close to real 72 handling. The EPR gauges are hopeless and i mean hopeless. The EPR go's up and down hugely with windchanges causing enormous problems just setting cruise power. Then there's the flight director which is 8 degree's out and they refuse to fix and have so through 5 yes 5 service packs/patches.The CS727 model is excellent and i use it with a modified flight model which is accurate in comparison and the Richard Probst panel which makes a good accurate package with good FDE and a nice panel.Altogether the 72 put me well and truly off ever buying a Captain Sim product ever again. As can be seen from reports the 707 has major FDE issue's as well.Looking forward to the Dreamfleet 727.Darren

I'm planning on acquiring the DF727 if for no other reason than the FDE were written by Ron Freimuth...a widely acknowedged expert on FS flight dynamics who has graciously helped many learn the black art of FDE design. In contrast, whoever did the FDE for the Captain Sim 727 should be mortally embarassed (but isnt'...actually they're still quite proud of it), and I'm guessing the DF offering will provide a much-needed alternative. Those who have been willing to accept CS' bleating protestations that everything wrong with their model is an FS limitation should be pleasantly surprised by Ron's work. No more screwed-up EPR gauges...no JATO-powered climbouts etc etc.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Washington, DC

Whilst some said that continuing this project in the light of somebody else announcing didn't quite make me the smartest cookie in the jar, it's really nice at this stage to see a post like where all posts to date are expecting to get this lovely old plane. What can I say, thanks.http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...BANNER_PAUL.jpg

Cheers
