Yeah, I'll tell you an interesting story. Years ago, from 79-87 I ran the IMSA series in this country, driving BMW's and Porsche's. Mainly Porsche 935's and 962's. So I have a fair idea of what I'm doing at a road course. . (they say pilots make good race drivers and vice versa). I don't think I was world class, but I could run with them and let them know I was there, and I've been to LeMans a few times as a driver, so, needles to say, I've been around the block a bit in the drivers seat. When I still had my Porsche business in Ohio, a young kid down the street who my wife knew his parents well, developed a bad cancer and everyone knew it was terminal. He had been over to our house once with one of my young daughters and seen my PC racing set up and thought that was the greatest thing since sliced bread. To make a long story short, We bought him a great set off pedals and steering wheel, (this was when Thomas first started making them, good stuff), bought the game Sports Car GT and then fixed him up a great computer to run it on. Little Jimmy was in heaven . . . and it all made us feel pretty good knowing we had given him something that made him so happy. This young man spent as much time driving on that computer as the Good Lord would allow . . . right up until the day he passed away.We all got great pleasure in playing with Jimmy, but I'll tell you something, the most enjoyment he got was playing with me, cause I had been a 'real' racing driver. And the little turkey just smoked my butt big time! After about a week of playing Sports Car, reading all he could and lots of practicing . . . he made it clear that he was gunnin for me! Ya know, it's about the only time in the world I didn't mind getting beat doing something . . .and I didn't let him win, he would have known if I had . . . he beat me fair and square. the last words he ever spoke to me were: "Mr. Clay, I really love kickin your butt." Civ III - the perfect companion on your laptop when you spend hours and hours on a ferry or an airplane. I got hooked with the first version of Civ and it still amazes me how complex this game is and how right they managed to get it the first time.Colin McRae 2005 - the heart pounding, the staring at the screen afraid to blink and thereby missing a turn, and just having one last, I PROMISE, one LAST go at breaking my time record. Yes honey, just one more minute and I'm coming there.Day of Defeat - I used to play Counterstrike until the cheaters got too many, then I found DoD and I was saved!Max Payne - ever wanted to be a film director? The game is short but the matrix style scenes you can produce are out of this world!And when me and some friends gather around some beer and whiskey for the weekend and want to play a boardgame: RISK. It's so simple and yet so deep. You thought you knew your best friend? Right, play a game of RISK and you will see a new side of him/her! The lying, the cursing, the threatening, the accusations!!! Don't play it with your girlfriend/wife though - might cause some real damage!!

NASCAR Racing 2003 and Grand Prix Legends by Papyrus. BTW the credits at the end of GPL contains among others Sir Jack Brabham, NR 2003 is GPL with 5 years of development. both these games like FS have been transformed by free 3rd party addons.

One game that I got hooked on til I completed it was "Mafia". Role playing action game but can really use your graphics card and system. I read that there will be a "mafia 2" release. I'm hoping that "red dead revolver" will be released on PC. Other games I paly on my system is "Nascar thunder", "Viet-cong", and "Delta Force". However, nothing compares to Flight Sim.

Yeah Mafia should definiatly be on my list. That is the trouble when you play what about 15-20 games a year you forget many of the excellent stuff.Like Mafia and Grim Fandango that adventure game is just too good to be true.
