November 11, 200421 yr So, you actually fly these aircraft in real life then? To know of real world flight characteristics so intimately, you do fly these aircraft then; just curious...Seemed innocent enough of a question to me, Daniel. Sorry you're so thin-skinned about it that you feel it's necessary be a pompous ####. Save your retorts for the true flamers; you wasted a good one on me... Rick
November 11, 200421 yr This thread strikes me as being started for the sole purpose of posting negative and insulting remarks. Time for it to end.Glenn"If God would have wanted man to fly He would have given him more money"
November 11, 200421 yr >All I want to do is have a realisitc 777 so I can fly it in>FS. The tail strike happens at 160-170 kts rotation speed>(even default a/c) so I'd like to change it so it reflects>typical flight characteristics of the Boeing 777 in the real>world. Do you understand? The 772 Meljets perform nicely. The 773s don't. (I haven't tested all, just SIA and CPA not ERs)Thats what I think. (as above)Sometimes I am too straight and some people take it personally.Sorry.I won't ask you guys anymore. I'll just go direct to those who will give me the utter truth on whether or not the flight model is up to scratch. If that offends anyone, well...soooooorrrrryyyyy!Maybe the best comparison is seeing what an aircraft does in real life and translating that speed and weight to FS2004 and working the same forces in. Then we'll get an idea if they are out or not.If anyone here wants to know the answers when I get them let me know and I'll email you. While I like making friends I can't avoid the facts that some people think I am having a go at them. My values speak louder than stepping on toes. If it aint black and white well I tune it until it is. If that gets anyone's feelings hurt because I am a perfectionist then either forgive me or just accept who I am.Daniel

You are participating in a forum where words are the only "body language" we see. Adopting a "take no prisoners" attitude with your opinions can result in bringing out the worst in those around you. You have a right to argue your opinion, but others have a right to theirs. And just like yelling "fire" in a crowded theater, you need to choose the time and place of your comments.Having said that, to everyone who asked if you were a pilot--let's drop that litmus test from these forums, once and for all. Otherwise--many of us non-pilots you "pilots" depend on for add-ons will walk away from this hobby. I can't stand bigots anywhere, and I've been seeing some big time ones here when it comes to qualifying some of the remarks made in the forums vs. FDE's and other issues..nuff said and rant over-John
November 11, 200421 yr HHhhhmmmmmmm...........I can see the headlines now in all forums......If you cannot read/write English perfectly then do not post in these forums......The gentleman originally posted his observations on the default planes about the FD's not being realistic. A few people posted nice friendly comments and even said welcome to the individual............Then, one individual comes in here, jumps all over the poor guy about not having good English etc etc (obviously a very avid supporter of Meljet birds), then everyone suddenly jumps all over the guy, even going as far as TELLING the guy that unless he is a rated pilot he has "NO RIGHT" to comment on FD's...... and THIS IS COMING FROM NON RATED PILOTS...............Then, I guess your telling ME that I HAVE NO RIGHT IN THIS WORLD TO DEVELOP FD'S FOR AIRCRAFT BECAUSE I AM NOT A RATED PILOT.....Talk about being utterly pathetic. No wonder so many developers (including myself) are losing interest in the MSFS world (or have already and left).... Its not the original poster that is causing this, its people that for the sake of having nothing else to do, want to jump all over someone because his grammer is not good.Sick!!!!Fraser TurnerSGA
November 11, 200421 yr "Then, I guess your telling ME that I HAVE NO RIGHT IN THIS WORLD TO DEVELOP FD'S FOR AIRCRAFT BECAUSE I AM NOT A RATED PILOT....."Who, me? Your response showed up as a reply to my post, which voiced the same concern and forecast the same result--developers like ourselves pulling out of the hobby because we're fed up with all the litmus tests and pre-qualifications some of the so-called "pilots" seem to place on us.Still, my reply to Daniel was based on his remarks and comments in other threads, including locked ones. It's causing people to react, rather than sincerely answer his posts--human nature, I guess. Still no excuse for some of the remarks directed at Daniel I've seen here.-John

November 12, 200421 yr Still the FDe didn't match Real world.Oh well. Might have to wait for someone to make a realistic FDe (hopefully for Meljet?)Daniel

November 12, 200421 yr >Yes, the C172 is very accurate in default a/c. That is very>good. What about the Flight 1 C172? I find it rather different to fly compared to the default or Realair C172.
November 13, 200421 yr no problem here with the default aircraft except maybe the baron, haven't quite figured that one out yet. never had a tail strike before and have lately come pretty close to the numbers for takeoffs. one thing that helps me is not to slam the throttles foward, not that you are, but ease them foward but just fast enough to be at or near 90% before you rotate AND ease the stick back as not to slam it back too. the trim needs to be set correctly also. allow about 6 seconds to pitch up 20 degrees. it takes practice, i spent the other night doing just that. must have hit the reset flight button more that a dozen times. added a few grey hairs to an already grey head. anyway it works for me. it also helps to make small, smooth, slow, gentle movements. if you've ever watched the instruments like the VSI in a real jet, you'll notice how slowly they move, no sudden movements unless they're having problems. i have to say how amazing it is and the feeling of sensation is awesome if you make small smooth movements with the stick, yea, i'm talking default here believe it or not. good luck. william
