September 1, 201312 yr Hey All Thanks to the wonderful tools available for XPX, I decided to try my hand at scenery design and improvement. I watched this guys tutorials, as he takes you from start to finish, including making photoscenery(very important for me). They are in Portugese, but you can get the gist of what he's doing. He covers pretty much everything and I got the hang of the Bezier Curves by watching him. I decided to spruce up Tampa North Aeropark, since it is close to my house and very simple, i.e. one runway, no taxiway etc... Before: After: This was about 1 day of work, but alot of that was actual learning, and reverse engineering from the Portugese tutorials. I still have more to do; Grasslines, fencing, Lights for night time, excluding trees from on top of things, etc. But this was a fun and rewarding experience. The current XPX object libraries are a little spare, but if you want the airport to go into future iterations of the sim, you are stuck using them( for example there are very few GA airplane objects to place). I still have a lot to learn in terms of optimizing things, and actual airport design rules for lighting, taxiways, signage etc... But I am excited to do so...
