September 4, 201312 yr Hi I have a question about the preconfigured cockpit states available in PMDG 777. I see three main states: 1. Cold and Dark 2. There is a state with Short label. 3. There is a state with Long label. What is the difference between 2 and 3 ? Secondly, in the tutorial available, the cockpit state that it starts with is in cold and dark, and we use Battery then APU to get some electrical power. I was wondering instead of APU, how can we provide External Power. From cold and dark state, my fmc is powered off so i can't request for ground connection. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Bilal Asif Khan
September 4, 201312 yr Hello, same problem for me, I don't have the FMC screen in the cold and dark cockpit. I have to turn on the APU. I can not connect the ext power directly.

September 4, 201312 yr This info is in the intro guys. Believe me, you might be a pro with the NGX but this is not the NGX. Very different in many ways. Dan Downs KCRP
September 4, 201312 yr Short turn is with APU already running. Long turn is with ext. power connected and APU off. What happened to AVSIM
September 4, 201312 yr Author Short turn is with APU already running. Long turn is with ext. power connected and APU off. Thank you. That makes sense. I remember the good old PSS 777 days, in one of the tutorial there was a mention that if you leave APU running it will die out in 30 mins.... Since then I have been weary about length of APU usage until one of the PMDG 777 beta videos showed it running from fuel in the tanks.  Bilal Asif Khan
September 4, 201312 yr Must have been the duration of the battery ... but there's also a MSFS "flat battery bug" developers have to overcome. What happened to AVSIM
September 4, 201312 yr I am surprised there is no running state? On the short flight set up, I can get rid of the ac air compressor. I am flying with it dragging behind me. On the FMC, Ground Connections - everything is disconnected - any advice why the ac unit or compressor is still plugged in? Paul Gugliotta
