September 5, 201312 yr Skippers, by watching at some of the videos on youtube, I see quite a few NON-NORMALs (with associated checklists - [] icon) popping out on the EICAS. Anyone willing to expand on the FAILURES (sys failures, eng fail, instrument failures and so on) this 777 can simulate, if any? And, if there are failures to simulate, can you set the ones you want (or just random failures) to happen when you want them to? That would be awesome Thanks
Francesco
September 5, 201312 yr Author Guys, any info on this from anyone? I would really be interested. If you have a list of the possible failures I would much appreciate
Francesco
September 5, 201312 yr Commercial Member Anyone willing to expand on the FAILURES (sys failures, eng fail, instrument failures and so on) this 777 can simulate, if any? Go into the PMDG Setup > Failures page - they're all in there... Kyle Rodgers
September 5, 201312 yr Author Thanks Scandinavian (by the way, nice tutorials, thanks!!), I would....if I had bought the sim already.. I was waiting for those infos in order to decide whether to invest 90$ or not. I'm more interested in simulating non-normals, and this seems to be the sim to buy if it can simulate some. I tried writing to PMDG but no answers so far. Well, no surprise on that! They must be VERY busy with the new release. So, if some of you are willing to have a look for me I would much appreciate. Thanks
Francesco
September 5, 201312 yr Commercial Member Well, no surprise on that! They must be VERY busy with the new release. Yep! Very busy. So, if some of you are willing to have a look for me I would much appreciate. Honestly, the reason I told you to go look for yourself is that there are a TON of failures in there, and they're all grouped out. It would take forever to list them all, or even get screenshots of all of them. I can say that you won't be disappointed. There are more than you'd see in the NGX. Kyle Rodgers
September 5, 201312 yr Author Perfect!! That's what I was hoping to hear Would you have an idea if you can select to make them happen automatically when you need them to come up (let's say, engine fail at V1; or some electrical issue reaching, don't know, 25000ft), or if you have to turn them on manually? And last, Would it be possible to make them come up randomly at sim discretion? (just to give it a more realistic touch)
Francesco
September 5, 201312 yr Commercial Member engine fail at V1 In there. or some electrical issue reaching, don't know, 25000ft Altitude isn't a trigger, but you can enter a time delay, yes. And last, Would it be possible to make them come up randomly at sim discretion? Yes, you can have the sim randomly trigger failures, in addition to service based failures (that trigger based on the estimated service life of various items). Kyle Rodgers
September 5, 201312 yr Author Great! Thanks for your help Scandinavian! It misses the motion, then it would really be a REAL plane! Well done PMDG!
Francesco

to practice diagnosing the problem. The QRHmakes it extremely easy. Simply look up the warning light or symptomsthat you see in the QRH index and then follow the checklist provided!NOTE 2: Some failures, particularly those related to engine overheatwarnings, pneumatic bleed over-pressures and door related warnings canhave multiple meanings. For example, and engine overheat warning mayrequire that you shut down an engine, or it may simply require a reductionin thrust. A door warning may simply be a faulty warning, or it mayindicate a door seal failure that requires emergency action. This makesthe simulation exciting, and encourages you to use the Quick ReferenceHandbook to follow the trouble shooting procedures to deduce what typeof failure you are dealing with!NOTE 3: We suggest you read the DETAILS AND QUIRKS OF THEPMDG 777-200LR/F section. You will learn some interesting things aboutthe simulation you are about to fly! Lj. September 5, 201312 yr Author g, you're the master!! Thanks! Really impressive job!! Decision is made, I'll buy it
Francesco
September 5, 201312 yr Commercial Member Really impressive job!! It was copied out of the Intro Manual (which I'd forgotten included this info), but smart all the same... PMDG 777 intro manual: Despite working with all of that, I forgot all that was in there - good call. Kyle Rodgers

October 24, 201312 yr I've had this nose tire balance failure. Does anyone know what is it? I've tried to google for it and haven't really found anything. I found it listed as failure in the introduction manual but no explanation for it. I also didn't notice anything strange in taxiing or takeoff/landing roll. Joona Väisänen

I found it listed as failure in the introduction manual but no explanation for it. I also didn't notice anything strange in taxiing or takeoff/landing roll. Your taxi speed during turns might be too high - 10 kts GS max is the recommendation I think. Taking sharp high speed turns on the ground will eventually trigger this failure. Hard landings (smacking the nose wheel on the runway during derotation) might do it as well, but I'm not sure about that. This info comes from the NGX, I assume it is the same with the 777.
