  • This report is odd to me.  I did two night landings last night, and the lights not only worked but I thought they were extremely nice. Landing lights, wing lights and strobes all illuminated the ground

Ever notice how far ahead of the wings you are in the 777?   This isn't the NGX...

Yes. DX10 Fixer also on board.

That's why.

We do not support DX10.

Several days ago, when I had Vista and boxed FSX (SP2) and DX10 mode there wasn't this effect. Why?

No idea. Like I said, we don't support DX10, so I can't say why something would work and then suddenly stop working while in DX10.

An aircraft would likely work as a submarine for a short time as well, but aircraft aren't supported as submarines, so I can't tell you for how long, or why they would work and then suddenly stop working as one.

Ok, I will check it in DX9 mode. In case existing issue in DX9, I will submit a ticket.

Thanks, Kyle.

You're welcome. Just let us know.

I had this happen with the external lights on the 777 after the first install. I fired up P3D and got no ground illumination. I shut down the sim and restarted and the lights were back. Dunno what happened, maybe its a small glitch between the 777 and P3D or maybe just a small issue that got worked out on my machine. Either way restarting the simulator fixed it for me.

Joseph,

...it not works for me.

I submitted a ticket and I'm waiting for response...

P3D is different, as has been widely discussed here. V3 introduced a number of issues with various products. One of them was that if you load during the day and transition to night, the landing lights would not work. If you loaded during the night and then changed the time to whatever you preferred, you would be fine.

Do you guys know why that happens Kyle? Is it something that LM can fix or is it something we'll just have to live with?

Well if it was working in V2.5 and before, and it only stopped working in V3, one would assume that it's something they can fix. That's an assumption, though. They'd be the ones to ask as it's their code that changed.
