  1. With all the improvements PMDG has learned since the original 747, I have wondered if the handoff to the beta testers will go quicker than previous airframes? Or has the addition of newer, updated features made the testing process longer. I've always wondered about this from a developers viewpoint. Now I'm not asking for any type of release timeframe, as testing always shoots them dates to hell and back. Maybe Kyle or one of the devs could share some insight on this.
  2. OK OK the date has finally been set. I cleared out all the rubbish and pushed out the old 747 to make room for this beautiful bird. Sent the wife to retrieve the flight manuals.......
  3. I think that this has been proven in the past, with crashes in KSFO (most recent) where flight crews are relying too much on automation. Personally I would want someone who can handle the **** when it hits the fan. Someone who knows the internal workings of the aircraft, or someone who learned which button to push....... hhmmmmm that's a no-brainer there Kyle.
  4. Throw out the heavy passengers and she will climb like a kite Are you doing a manual climb or letting the AP do it? Only time I have had any issues with climbing to cruise alt is when I was over weight
  5. I do believe Quality Wings is doing the 787, haven't heard of PMDG developing a 787.
  6. you can always adjust the speeds on the fmc legs pages after you have your route done in the fmc. I believe there is another place in the fmc to do this, but it escapes me at the moment.
  7. I can say positively that with TD + ASN w/SC, I will not use anything else for textures and weather in my fs. Once you experience the weather generated by ASN, it's like night and day. I guarantee you'll love it. And once you fly with it, you'll never want to fly without it. There is nothing better than sitting on the tarmac waiting for boarding/loading and watching the fog roll in as buildings disappear one at a time.
  8. I have noticed a trend that when PMDG releases a highly anticipated airframe, the machines VISA uses at your local stores seems to be having LAG with cc purchases....
  9. Ok you got me. I wasn't going to buy this bird as I'm not a fan of the old props, but reading the OP seeing pics of her in the air and on the ground has changed my mind. Very well stated Carl, now I'm having shakes just waiting on her.
  10. Well maybe when PMDG runs out of aircraft to develop they will take a 2nd look at redoing the MD-11. I know, I have a better shot at winning the Powerball than PMDG reviving the MD-11. But my credit card and I can dream right? Now let's see tomorrows numbers were.........
  11. That's no problem Kyle, I thought P3D and FSX were pretty much the same beast. And please don't take offense to what I stated, as me defending what others are trying to do. I am a staunch supporter of PMDG, I am trying (and losing miserably at it ) and hoping you guys will someday resurrect the MD-11 into P3D. I know what has been stated in the past about it, but I do have my fingers crossed. Also thanks for your very professional way of telling me to hush. Lol enjoy your weekend.
  12. Sorry, that was Aerosoft's London Heathrow scenery. and to be honest I have no idea about the frequencies. I'll have a look and let you know, didn't even think of that. **UPDATE** Yes you are correct John. That's what I get for not READING the manual. LOL thanks for the tip.
  13. Um, Kyle, didn't PMDG tell it's 1900 C/D customers on how to put that bird into FSX from FS9? http://support.precisionmanuals.com/kb/a82/how-do-i-import-the-1900c-and-1900d-into-flight-simulator-x.aspx You guys also said if it was done there would be no support on it. NOTICE - these methods are an unsupported way to use these products in FSX. They were not designed for FSX and they are not marketed as being compatible with FSX. If you experience any issues using these products in FSX, there is nothing we can do via our official support process. Not trying to agree or disagree with you, just trying to figure out what all the chest banging is about when it was allowed in the past?
  14. Had this happen today during taxi out from Dock 8 to 09L following atc instructions: Sat there for 10 mins trying to figure out how the gates work. Finally saw a ramp truck drive right thru them, so I followed him. Went right thru them.
  15. That maybe with a car on the lot ready to go, go in there demanding to know what they are developing for the next series of vehicles and see where that gets you.
  16. OMG you guys are killing me!! All this talk about customers demanding information.......lol. Go down to your local car dealer and demand the same thing from them you are demanding from PMDG, and see how fast you get thrown out or escorted by the local authorities. Just because your a paying customer means nothing in the grand scheme of things. You and I both know that as soon as they release the product, you'll break the sound barrier typing in your cc information to buy it. So sit back relax, and do like the rest of us and WAIT for the release. Pretty simple huh?
  17. excellent idea, never thought of converting the P8 for VA use. Love the new look. You should definitely release her. Good work on the livery.!
  18. I would think, and this is just my opinion here, that developers may wait to see if it takes off (no pun intended), before they start dumping money and resources into a products add-on development. We all remember MS Flight and the disaster that was. As with anything dealing with add-ons, all we can do is speculate until they actually release some information. Then we sit back and watch the conspiracy theories snowball.
  19. ok quick question here, hadn't noticed it or maybe I overlooked it. Will the v3 installers work with v3.2? Having an issue with 777 and the 737 in v3.1 and getting ready to put 3.2 in
  20. At the request of Kyle, I am starting a new topic on this (previous request was in wrong topic). I didn't put it in either the 777 or 737 forums, as it now has affected both the 737 and 777 products. This is the second time this has happened after reinstalling P3Dv3.1 and PMDG. The issues is this......after one flight (which goes smoothly no issues), the very next flight I am unable to click on anything in the cockpit. Absolutely nothing works. This is not right after the flight ended as I do 18+ hr flights, but the next day after turning my comp back on. Before it started with P3D and went to my FSX install with the issue. Now it's just with PMDG and P3D. My old system didn't have this issue, before I did a complete hardware change. New cpu, memory, hdd's, video card....the works. Alot of folks have been saying the Migration Tool causes the issue, but I don't have this installed. I run all my pgms with administrator privileges. I don't have the P3D start up changed as it starts with the selection pop up where you choose the aircraft, weather, airport, and time. I have already reinstalled FSX and P3d (twice with P3D) now with this new setup, as the issue keeps happening. With the add-ons I currently have I would really like to not have to do this again, as it takes me a very long time to reinstall everything. Any suggestions on how to get the cockpit functioning again? Also I haven't tweaked anything on P3D other than what ASN did when it was installed with the affinity mask setting. After noticing the new 3.2 update this maybe a moot point discussing now, as all my P3D products must be reinstalled with the new version. But before I do that I would like to try and see what is causing this issue in case I start to have it in v3.2.
  21. ok Kyle here is an update, I have uninstalled the 777 and the 737 in P3D. I have reinstalled the 737 and it works. Reinstalled the expansion 600/700 and its back. Reinstalled the 777 and no joy there as well. Just went back and checked the 737 and nothing works now. LMAO, oops. My bad, usually when you guys want details on something you want everything. I launch the sim as an admin and it goes to the default popup where you pick a flight (airframe, airport, weather). I don't mess with that as it causes problems when you set a particular airport/airframe for start up in the config. ***UPDATE*** I have decided to remove everything and start over. FSX has started the same, something that was installed went awary, and I don't know what it is. As of now none of my PMDG stuff works. I will keep you posted if I find out what the culprit is.
  22. No problem Kyle. I just hate seeing multiple forum topics on the same subject. Sorry about this though. Ok here we go: (Every install of software was followed by a sim start with admin privledges or a reboot depending what was asked after install) After installing W10 Pro x64, MB drivers, windows updates, saitek drivers, MS Office, CCleaner, Smart Defrag 4. I let her sit for 24 hours ( a burn in so to speak after a new build) no problems. I then started my FS9 install. No other planes are affected.
  23. Ok gang, maybe we can fix this little issue I'm having with 98% of the panels being non-clickable on any PMDG P3Dv3 airframe (777 or 737). This issue doesn't affect my FSX PMDG airframes (777, J41, 737, 747, -8i, LCF, MD11). Everything was working beautifully earlier today. During my last flight FSUIPC went haywire talking about another instance running, which there isn't. I thought it might have something to do with the last program I installed which was SODE (scenery needs this for KLIAv2 FSX). I uninstalled it (SODE) and still can't do anything on the overhead but turn on landing lights. I have just spent the last month rebuilding my computer (major upgrade), and reinstalling FSX, and P3D with their respective addons. I can give a list of what I have installed if needed. I have followed the advice of the SimConnect fix but no dice. I have all 4 showing, in the installed pgm list. I really don't want to have to start over, just looking at the list of addon pgms is starting to make me teary eyed at the thought. This is the first time I have had this issue. Any suggestions? Let me know if there is any information you need? P.S. I didn't want to start a new topic as this was recent and has the same issues I am having. I will start a new one if the forum gods deem necessary.
  24. Yup I can see it now...... "Support request for fatal errors on CB's...... Panel 4 row 67 CB 93". PMDG..."Do the other CB's cause fatal errors? Please test each one and let us know." The aforeshown pic was gathered from http://airsoc.com/articles/view/id/5536db89313944bb2b8b456c/ailes-anciennes-toulouse-visites-cockpit-april-2015
  25. Here is even a better shot of that fifth pod. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHE1FpR0BTo And here I thought I was knowledgeable about most of the aircraft I use in FSX, P3D. I had no idea this even existed on a hvy. And to think my HS/College instructors (30 yrs ago) said playing games will teach you nothing.
