Strange issue (joystick)

Featured Replies

Hey guys just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

It only happens when im in the PMDG 777

I can choose the plane , spawn at an airport

perform preflight tests all ailerons etc are working perfectly.

Then out of nowhere my joystick will completely stop functioning , i go to menu controllers and it has completely disappeared.

so i can sit at the taxi way for around 5 minutes , then it all of a sudden comes back.

Today i landed at OMDB perfectly and by the time i braked etc my joystick had stopped working again.

I also am getting strange logs in my Virtual airline logs about the speedbrake setting and retracting every 1 second at random intervals in my flights

i have tried :

* reinstall FSX

* reinstall 777

* reinstall fsuipc

Its jsut so random..................

I am utterly stumped and it only happens with the 777. Any other aircraft 0 issues :(

Have you tried a flight without fsuipc installed, just to narrow it down somewhat?

Yeah i have tried that ,

Doesnt help :(

Hi There

This is a problem I had with the NGX and now the 777, but it is I believe only apparent in win 8. As I fly in windowed mode and not full screen because my two monitors are different resolutions, I simply do ALT- ENTER to go to full screen mode then press it again to go back to windowed mode and my joystick comes back to life. Hope this works for you

Kind Regards

I have similar problems every now and then.

Going into the FSX FSUIPC menu (open and close without saving anything) reactivated my controls.

Dont know why.

It does this not only on PMDG aircraft.

Other thing that comes to mind is virus scanner?!

Rob Robson

No virus scanner, no fault of PMDG or anyone else but Microsoft. This is a pure Win 8 problem. Read all about it here;

Only remedy so far is a registered version of FSUIPC...

LG C4 42'' 4k@144hz || Oculus Quest 3 || Turtle Beach Velocity One

Almost everyone I listen to about FSX advises Win 7 x64 for many, many reasons........

I had win 8 and trashed it and went back to win7. Glad I only paid $40 for win 8!

This is not a purely Win 8 problem, it exists in Win 7 aswell. My system seems more stable by configuring the joystick through FSUIPC

Never heard of disconnecting joystick in Win 7, but ok, I'm not gonna argue about that now. Regardless, it's a much bigger problem on Win 8 than Win 7.
