p.s.  does anyone know why avsim doesn't allow the extension linked from photobucket anymore?  (I used to be able to post an image and it would show up in the post)

Click the "More reply Options' button then you will see the 'Attach Files' option....no need for external program now, just upload from your computer, I wish all forums allowed that

Which is why I'm getting my RV ready for heading south.

Not too far south I hope as we are moving into the peak hurricane season. Well at least some good tropical storms.

Officially retired

After installing FTXG and wondering about Fall colours, I captured screenshots at the same location every second week starting late August and was complaining about what seemed a rather poor rendition in comparison to previous scenery utilities I have used in the past. But this shot captures what I was looking for. If this is FTXG, then I should have sampled the changes in tree textures every week instead of every second week. Is this FTXG?

Thanks,

Hmmm . . . Thanks Ryan, I just replaced GEX with FTXG. Food for thought! I'll see what I get with FTXG in Duluth.

Getting the trees here too, but whats goofy is if you go to "time and Season' in FSX it still shows as 'Summer'

Jay

I'm also getting the fall trees. Talked to Orbx about it and they said it's an FSX issue. I've never used autogen much until FTX Global so I'm not familiar with the behavior of seasons (mainly used photoreal until now).

My current "fix" is to set the date to August 31st, as that is the latest at which summer trees show for me, and then offset the sim time appropriately so I get a close approximation of the sun position. I compare the time the sim gives me when I select Dawn or Dusk to the actual dawn or dusk time for the current day reported on weather.com.

Wondering if there's a better way to control this though. Just started searching for it, which led me to this thread
