Turbulence setting with Accu-feel, how?

Featured Replies

Hi

I posted this on a2a forum some days ago, but there is no replies, and would really like to hear, how others configure for the best turbulence experience....

----------------------------------------------

Does the turbulence effects in accufeel only simulate effects if there is reported turbulence, or will it simulate effects just because there is wind?

I am asking because i was expirementing with your new C172R, and i turned on accufeel but only the turbulence effects, and i got constant turbulenceeffects and the same amount both in 5kts and 25kts wind.

I have searched on your forum for an explanation on how it works, but could not find a clear answer.

I have tried with FSX own weather, OPUS and FS Global real weather, i cant find the right combo of settings. I would like to get turb-effects only when there is turbulence and not all the time, and i would prefer to fly with FS Global real weather, is this possible?

Thanks

Regards
Thomas

This doesn't really answer your question but I disable turbulence settings in Accu Feel and let Opus dish it out when it thinks fit. Does FS Global do turbulence? If it does, let it do the job. Accu Feel is good for aircraft rattles etc, leave it at that.

I'm also pretty sure A2A have answered this question. Do a search.

FS Global RW does a beautiful job of emulating turbulence - in fact this is the best weather engine that I've come across in the sim-world. Do as Ron suggets. You can try each one on it's own, make your notes - then use the one you like best. None of this is rocket science.

Since an answer to your question remains, I would GUESS from my experience with the product, that it is not aware of the surrounding weather. It adds periodic "bumps" to the current weather that one would feel even on a clear day due to heating up or down of the atmosphere. I like it since it is easier than trying to find an old weather file that might do the same thing.

I don't think I'd go looking for turbulence, I'd be happy enough to avoid it!

It is my understanding that AccuFeel enhances turbulence, but does not create turbulence.

My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

You are correct. From page 11, A2A Accu-Feel AL&S manual:

The turbulence effect in Accu-Feel works to enhance existing wind, so in calm or smooth air, even with the turbulence sliders activated,

there will be no turbulence.
