NEW ActiveSky and WX Radars for our aircraft.

Featured Replies

"Now that we know where the clouds are, we decided to make a detailed accurate NEXRAD radar precipitation overlay for both the Map and the included radar gauge. Real radar simulation.. not generic station-based imagery. You see the cloud, you see the rain cell, and when you enter it, it's all synchronized. Thread the needle between cells. Realistic avoidance procedures. This overlay data is also coming soon to aircraft NDs as we are working on an interface of our radar data to aircraft developers."

That being said. I wonder which aircraft will get Weather Radars? And the fact that the wx radar will actually be put into the ND...
Sounds dreamy...

If the past is any indication, it would be available for all planes, just as X Gauge can be added to any plane.

Jim is correct. Using XGauge, you can add the weather radar to any aircraft panel.

It can't be added to the VC can it?

Pretty sure you can put the Reality-XP weather radar in a VC.

Yes, it can.

Just want to point out that you do not get on the wrong track:

currently, as with former versions of AS, you can add a WX gauge which is simply the same as you see on the map from the AS GUI.

What is probably asked here, an implementation in addon aircrafts ND or similar, is not meant initially as stated:

So, with ASN you get the WX gauge for implementing it into the VC as 2D panel.

But Hifi will hopefully also create a version which could be implemented by addon developers in the aircrafts VC ND

What would be cool is if Active Sky could, somehow, create light (or greater) turbulence when you're in a cloud and, perhaps, send an event to AccuFeel to create shudders and rattles.

It'd have to know which type of cloud it is.  Not all clouds are associated with turbulence.

It'd just need to tell it about the turbulence.
