Miami City X by Drzewiecki Design question

Featured Replies

Hello everyone!

I have learned that when considering a product you have to take into account FSX memory limitations.  So with that in mind my question is: Can I fly LatinVFR KMIA, PMDG, and Miami City X without OOMs on DX9?

I know this also depends on my general FSX scenery settings and AI traffic which I have toned down to a point where I do not get OOMs and I am happy with the compromise.  Thanks for the input!

Yup. I seem to have no issues. City is beautiful, just have to disable the kmia that comes with dd scenery.

PMDG planes can differ by some 400 MB in VAS usage - that's about 10% of the VAS limit.

I don't have KMIA, but I run the Miami City on top of Florida landings (old, photoscenery type addon by Feelthere, which adds its own VAS usage). Works for me.

What happened to AVSIM

No problem flying to KMIA with the UTX USA background, LatinVFR KMIA and DD Miami. That's even with the Concorde or NGX, so I think the Miami area might be more forgiving than lets say New York where I wouldn't necessarily run all addons when it comes to oom trouble.

I turned off the photo real surroundings that come with LatinVFR and also turn UT2 traffic off to avoid OOMs anytime I use a PMDG product.  I hope that when Steve releases his DX10 compatibility program, I can turn traffic on again.

should have no problem, have similar setup, by the kmia, from Latin VFR is a beauty. Go for it!!!

Good point, Luis. That's what I forgot to mention. It makes sense to combine the airport and the DD city with one of the photo layers disabled. I think I explained something on the case in the initial DD Miami thread.

I only had optical aspects in mind though, so the oom related relaxation would be a side effect. Well, as planes eat up more of the margins, it becomes more apparent of course as you correctly point out.

By the way, I think all DD sceneries are discounted to some -30% these days.

Yup!  Bought Warsaw yesterday to add to my Miami and NYC.  Great stuff!

Thanks for the replies guys.  I am out of town right now but I brought this up because I saw that it was one sale; and I did buy it.  Will check it out when I get back home!  Oh and I do already own LatinVFR KMIA and I really like it except for the shadows issue.
