There are a few differences which should be pointed out.

UT2 has an updated schedule that you can download that brings it up to date which will probably make the schedules more current than GAITraffic

Second, UT2 aircraft actually fly flight plans that use airways (using simconnect), where as GAIT uses the conventional .bgl style traffic plans that basically make the traffic fly direct from point A to B. Some dont care about that because you may still see traffic when you get closer to your destination, but if you fly real routes following airways, you will actually get traffic on your airways at different altitudes using UT2.

Since UT2 is the only AI package that actually has the AI following airways using flight plans, it makes it more realistic than all the other AI packages that use the .bgl style traffic plans, ie. WOAI, GAIT, MTX, etc.

Actually UT2 a/c are FSX native where as GAIT, like WOAI are using FS9 native models which can effect performance more than using FSX native AI. Unless however, the GAIT people pirated the native FSX models from another package.

More importantly, GAIT much like SKAI, are basically pirated AI packages. Not pirated from payware developers, but they are packaged and being used without the developers consent, which more or less pirated. WOAI gets consent from the developers who's AI models, paints, and flight planes they use and package, where as GAIT just does whatever they want with no regards or consent from those who's work they use to compile their packages.

In most ways GAIT is just like WOAI, except that GAIT is installed in one package rather than 350+ individual packages, but WOAI has permission to package and distribute the packages and GAIT does not.

Any searches on the AVSIM forums for GAIT or GAITraffic will turn up the facts about the GAIT being more or less pirated work.

In my opinion UT2 is an unfinished program. It has a very large percentage of aircraft "generic" designed as "daedalus". The Developers preferred to sell the program and not finish it.

Since several years ago that came to market. They already have enough time to have developed the missing textures. Another thing that bothers me is Shedule. The latest is the summer of 2012 and you have to pay.

Instead of continuing to evolve and make new service packs, have returned to sell a "new ultimate traffic 2" called "2013" which is totally false. It's the same program without any innovation. And with the same Shedule of 2012 and unfinished painting a large percentage of aircraft.

Despite all that, is the best program of Ai trafic until today. Instead of thinking about money, its creators should think of finishing it. Because technically it is a great program.

UT is not the best "hands down", since all the payware packages do more or less the same thing. My Traffic X Professional 5.4c is what I would recommend. It has lower quality models, but it is the most complete, with regard to 2013 schedules and airlines. And unlike some of the other packages, the technical support is superb.

True, Global Ai Traffic  = Collection of AI aircraft models, repaints and flightplans taken from various sites like Avsim file library and put under one installer without permission of original authors, thus it breaks copyrights.

Personally I would recommend either Mytraffic or Ultimate Traffic 2 depending on how much work you are willing to do. Mytraffic is one install solution while UT2 requires quite a bit of downloading and installing freeware AI aircraft models and repaints to really get same kind of coverage.

FTX traffic...

Too bad if you don't fly in the Antipodes.

Incorrect. The latest schedule is the Summer/Fall 2013. You can find the link to download on the UT2 forum. It is a paid schedule though, so you were right about 1 thing.

Btw, as someone else said, that traffic your promoting is pirated freeware. Not cool to promote.

You're right Jim. I had not seen the new shedule published on August 30.

And  I am not promoting the other traficc Ai program.
Just gave my opinion on a question from another member.

And I am not promoting the other traficc Ai program.

You gave a brief description of it, said it performed better than other packages you tried, recommended it, then gave a link to it.

Doing all that is the same as promoting it.

I voted none of these because any extra AI hurts FPS. There is no way around it.
