Wells heres the story, I been using fsx since 98, as with every new version of fsx, comes with more problems, more tweeks, and upgrading our machines. finally I have fsx running pretty good

my specs are the following:

processor - 3770k overcloked 4.4 ghz

motherboard - P8Z77-VPRO

memory - 8gigs, 1883, 9,10,9, 28

cooler -Corsair H80

video card - evga 780gtx

power 1,000 watts

Windows 7 64 bit

also use Nividia inspector

addons the usuals PMDG 737ngx, Pmdg 747-400, Pmdg - j4100, Airbus Ext, Duke piston and turbine, DC-9 Classic, Carenado 337, 340, CS 707, 727, 757,

scenery - fs dreamteam - Kjfkvol2, Kord, Klax, Kdfw, Cyvr, flytampa -Ktpa, Kbos, Kbuf, Cyul,  Latin VFR, Kmia vol2, Ksan, Flightbeam - Kiad, rex essential Plus, Ut2, Utx-Gex, and Ut2.

Upon using Nividia Inspector, and in big hubs like NYC. KORD, Lax, etc and running scenery on dense, airline traffic at 70% finally like I mentioned earlier FSX performing the best its ever been with FSX.

Now money is not the issue I think Steve deal is 32.00, what kind of an improvement would I see in FSX, Frame rates do not really concern me, but smoothness of the sim, is very important to me.  finally have got ridden of most of those microstutters, especially when going through the clouds.

Not to be niave, but convince me why should I purchase Steves product, want to know the good and the bad points, once again money is not an issue. and FSX I have a lot of passion in it.

thanks everybody, Ronny

Ronny,

this is a discussion forum, as stated above. If You feel that the overall performance from your current DX9 FSX is fine, then stay with that.

My experiences after using the freeware DX10 fixer V3.2.1 ,the tweaks explained in the "how-to" doc on the top of this forum and recommended settings in the nvidiainspector:

- noticeable framerate improvement in locally design improved area (e.g.airports), not so dominant in autogen area

- much less stutters

- for Orbx sceneries: no hovering houses anymore

-  (nearly) no OOM´s

-  some texture incompitibilities in some airports, see experiences from several simmers on the top of the forum "DX10 and compatible airports".

I do not earn the new DX10 fixer yet, but as reported many incompatibility issues are solved.

Wulf

Erm... In the end the choice is entirely yours, remember that your current settings for DX9 may need adjusting and all I would suggest is, back everything up first because it seems your happy with how things are, but if you do switch, then don't just try a quick flight, try it for a few days or a week. Only then, will you know what to do.

Hi Ronny,

why should we convince you to buy the DX10 Fixer? We're not here to sell any stuff.

Make up your mind, buy the fixer or let it be and stay with DX9 if you're happy with it.

You also can try first the freeware patches 3.2.2 as you can find everything here in this forum. This patch works pretty well too but doesn't have the full amount of fixes.

My machine is no where nearly as powerful as yours, take a look at my you tube channel all vid's are DX10, and the latest one's, DX10 Fixer. You be the judge.

DX10 is smooooothe.. right down to 17fps - and that's one of the major improvements over DX9. There are several other benefits, too, but with it comes some learning and a little work, reading and testing - and a few pretty minor anomalies that may or may not be fixable. Some folks have different tastes, some things more important than others, so it's pretty subjective.

An example of this - one person this morning has complained that the nav lights on his AI aircraft are not as bright as those when using DX9, and that they disappear sometimes when moving around, and also disappear with distance: this is possibly very true, but - you know - in a full year of using DX10 - I have never once noticed this - and it may well be quite true!! We are all different, and come with different expectations!

Just remember if you try the free patch 3.2.2 (should be called demo) and decide to buy the full fat fixer to first uninstall the patch 3.2.2 before installing fixer as it keeps things clean.

Charles.

...and just to add - I think that one of "our" recommendations might be to remove any traces of ENBSeries files, along with all SweetFX files, Mr. Handi files, and any post-processing addons that you may have used in DX9, as I have had to "Teamviewer" with a number of new (and old) DX10'ers in order to get FSX running again.

SweetFX does work very well when using DX10, and is a good replacement for ENB, but I think it needs a stable FSX system before it is installed.
