October 13, 201312 yr Its been a while since I've flown my JS4100. I was surprised when I was unable to turn the aircraft on the ground with my rudder pedals. Is this normal behaviour? My calibration works, so it's not a hardware or driver issue. RM Killins
October 13, 201312 yr Unlock the gust lock on the side of the FO. It can't be seen from PF-side. Read it in the j41_AOM. HAPPY LANDINGS. October 15, 201312 yr Author Hi Trobador ... Thanks for your reply. The gust lock totally slipped my mind. With my next flight, I flipped it up and was certain I'd be flying again. Sadly though, still no rudder. My rudder pedals are providing steering for my other aircraft, just not the JS. The rudder, as seen from the external view does not move either. (Hmmm ... appears the ailerons and elevators aren't moving either) RM Killins

You push the gustlock lever downwards to disengage it ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.
October 15, 201312 yr Author Thanks ckyliu for your input. I will have to revisit ... but with this info now, it would appear my OP was based on the thrust lock being in the downwards position. Until I confirm, it would appear that I am having rudder issues whether the thrust lock is up or down. Is there any other cockpit action needed that I may be missing? I've been following the tutorials and think I have everything covered, but whatever the problem, it appears unique to the JS4100. RM Killins
October 15, 201312 yr Have you tried loading the tutorial and see if that helps? I've been flying the JS4100 since it was introduced and have never had this problem. The JS4100 is one of the best that PMDG has produced. Billy Bluestar I Earned My Spurs in Vietnam
January 9, 201412 yr Yaw damper off and cockpit tooltips on (to check switch/lever positions) is what I'd recommend. What happened to AVSIM
