September 3, 201411 yr although I finding it amazing that a company who can write software to the high standard they do, cant complete a simple job of making the purchase of updated downloads work . I don't find it amazing at all really, what baffles me is that people still don't back up their download exes to a disk, usb or a external source which will save them purchasing the extended download. Same. I think it's just a matter of the world we grew up in, though. The software provision standard when I was growing up with computers was the 5.25" floppy. Thereafter, it was loads and loads of 3.5" "floppies." Only later was it CDs that could hold anything substantial (after a myriad of weird side projects like ZIP Disks, and so on). I'm used to having a physical copy of my data, so I still physically back up all of my data. Kyle Rodgers
September 3, 201411 yr Hi Good point but what about guys who have updated pc, maybe pc has been hacked etc Must be problems or the service would not be there Mhazy Mike
September 3, 201411 yr Doesn't matter as long you have got all your download exes burned to a cd, usb or external drive, or better still get your self a external drive make a clone of your drive to a external, than if you pc crashes or some thing else drastic than it a simple case of just re installing again I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
September 3, 201411 yr Commercial Member Good point but what about guys who have updated pc, maybe pc has been hacked etc Must be problems or the service would not be there Last time I checked, a hacker still can't alter your files that you've stored on a CD. There's a thing called airgapping. Data on a CD is physically airgapped from being targeted by a hacker (unless you leave it in the drive). Additionally, the only true action a hacker would have against a CD would be to wipe it. You can't alter files written to read-only media (that's why it's called "read only" - sure, you can write new data to a CD, but you can't alter what's already there). Unless your "updated pc" somehow lacks an optical drive, your point is pretty much invalid and it seems like you'd be greatly served by looking into data backups. What happens to all of your personal files (music, digital pictures and documents) if you get hacked, or get a virus? You expect Nikon to send you a disc of all of your pictures, too? Kyle Rodgers
September 3, 201411 yr Dear Pete_auau, you have right, but sorry I had recovered my copy with the old xp from a backup and what the procedure of the installation has done with my drive, they have destroyed my backup drive! Yes and I know, thats better to take the backup drive away, when you make a fresh install of windows, why they dont hold with the standard of partitions, what exists from the beginning of the 70th. I know this, but I have forgotten this! And I get red eyes, as all datas from 2 drives was away! So with a special program I have recovered many files, but this installation file of the pmdg is not possible to recover! And other programs I have byed, I have downloaded, I enter the registration key, this I have saved in a very secure cloud and then the software registered by the company and this was! When a producer of software offer a redownload-link and you order and pay this, then you will have this software, so as this was before! I will tell you, that the support of PMDG precisionmanuals.com has not answer 3 tickets in their system. Then they have not answer about I have send them mails via PayPal and they have not answer of the dispute, but they have then cancel the contracts, with a statement, they had no got the money! But I know and PayPal too knows, that they have got their money! About this, I have send them the transaction numbers and then they will ask PayPal. I have written them again - and again, I have not got an answer! So now I will wait until to today in the afternoon and then I will make via PayPal a Claimb! And when other friends have the same problem and have payed via PayPal, they shull doe please make a dispute and a claimb too, when they nothing here! I cant understand their strategy, what they doe with their clients and we see here too, that other friends have the same problem! Why? I am very very sorry about this!
September 3, 201411 yr Hi Yep, but the price of the download for a year beats the price and hassle of extra drives etc. No problems for me, just pay for a years download and reinstall as you like, how many years downloads can you get for the price of extra drives, quite a few. Mhady Mike
September 3, 201411 yr PMDG747-400, first off you should be signing your posts with your real name or add it to your forum signature, PMDG rules. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/245586-you-must-sign-your-full-real-name-to-posts-to-use-this-forum-posts-without-names-will-be-deleted/ To whom did you send a support ticket, PayPal? They are not going to help you with getting a download link. PayPal transactions may be reversed if the funds are not available. When you go to "Transaction Details" what does the page show, can you show us a screenshot of the transaction? I am having a hard time believing the transaction was cancelled for no good reason unless there was an issue with the funding source. I have been using PayPal for years to rent vacation properties, to purchase FSX addons and pay for ebay items I have bought and have never had a problem, why do you think there was a problem with your transaction? \Robert Hamlich/

Not quite true, captain sim cancelled one of my orders simply because it had been ordered from the Philippines. I was on holiday at the time they had a sale on, so i bought the product and had a friend download it. When i got home it installed just fine and i was 'happy' flying, 6 months later when i attempted a reinstall the product had been cancelled. No reason was given until i actually asked why Ian R Tyldesley
September 4, 201411 yr how many years downloads can you get for the price of extra drives, quite a few. Don't get what you getting here, since by the time you paid for the extra downloads on all your pmdg aircraft, you would have bought a external hard drive for the price you already paid for the extra download service. And than if your pc crashes than it a matter of simply re installing from your ext to your pc again. But if your happy to buy the download service and to re install everything from scratch again if your happen to have bad luck with your pc than that's fine And if you don't wont to pay for a external drive than save your download exes to a cd, usb and you can install as many times as you desire I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg

Some of them just want to have just the latest installers and don't like to grapple with RTM installer, service-packs, hotfixes and sometimes veryhotfixes, i know at least one of them.
September 6, 201411 yr Dear Hussar, I have a company and work long time with PayPal from the 90th and I have a good stayment with PayPal without problems. So every can see that the payment was transfered correct to this company: and I will inform today, that I have make today a PayPal Non-receipt - Claim - #PP-003-355-713-083Not quite true, captain sim cancelled one of my orders simply because it had been ordered from the Philippines. I was on holiday at the time they had a sale on, so i bought the product and had a friend download it. When i got home it installed just fine and i was 'happy' flying, 6 months later when i attempted a reinstall the product had been cancelled. No reason was given until i actually asked why Dear Wotan, But you have make a dispute or a claim about PMDG Simulations LLC via PayPal too or you have pay on an other way? and how long is this ago? Guys, Honestly - I have no idea what is going on here. Paul and I have been clearing out all of the support tickets every single night since 777 release with a few minor exceptions that have cropped up during weeks while Paul was traveling for real airline work and I had school exam hell-week at the same time. No one is on vacation, working on new products or whatever. I 100% cleared out the tickets last night and there were not any remaining extended download orders there. If you submitted one then there's a good chance it didn't actually go through for whatever reason. Submit it again - I'm sitting in the system right now and will process it basically immediately. Regarding the other claims here that we're not doing anything with the 777: There's a mile long list of fixes for the airplane that are coming with SP1 that I've kept updated constantly since release. We've added a ton of extra liveries in the OC. The OC itself has been updated 6+ times since the release. The idea that we're absent and not doing anything just isn't true. This was in 2013 a problem and in 2014 is the same problem, that you not answer the tickets! Your company must have big problems, why this is not normal, that a company not send answers!
September 6, 201411 yr Dear Wotan, But you have make a dispute or a claim about PMDG Simulations LLC via PayPal too or you have pay on an other way? and how long is this ago? Sorry mate, i have never had an issue with PMDG, i pay by Paypal all the time; the only issue i have ever had was with Captain Sim; actually to be fair, i think it was actually Paypal that cancelled the order, CS simply responded by cancelling the product. I am by no means insinuating anything at all about your issue, but i am 100% sure that PMDG are not at fault, or that it's a genuine oversight on their part. You really need to log a support ticket with them: http://www.precisionmanuals.com/pages/support.html Sorry i can't help further. Ian R Tyldesley
September 7, 201411 yr Hi Detlef, Did you check your spam folder for the download link after paying for the extended download service? It has been a long time so I forget how I received my re-download link. It does not seem like PMDG to not be providing you with at least some support. Hopefully they will provide you with a link that does not cost you any more time or grief, sorry that this has happened to you. Have you sent an email to [email protected] aside from submitting a support ticket? Best of luck in getting this sorted out. Robert \Robert Hamlich/
September 8, 201411 yr Dear Hussar, yes I have check the spam folders! I know, what I must do as an internet-service-provider! And they have not answer to paypal about the dispute and they have not answer to paypal about the claim - until now! And please read my first message to this topic. I have both the product in 2010 and as you can see in the picture, complete payed! Then I have get of the order of the download-link a order confirmation at the 17th august 2014. Both are payed! Then I have written a manual ticket-mail, that they send me please the download - link - nothing comes! They have not answered! I have send them more times a message via their system, and i got never a answer! Then I have open at the 22th august the dispute via PayPal, why I have not get for what I have payed! And then they send me at the 23th august the cancel of the contract for 2010 backwards for the product and for the download-link in 2014! Again I have written more times and they have not answer! And they have not answer via PayPal about the dispute. About this I have move at the 6th september the dispute to a claim and again I have not got an answer and they have not send an answer to paypal! What will I do more?
