Flows Delay AXE

Featured Replies

So I managed to do a flight with the new version, and everything went fine except two little lags.

Anyways, later on I wanted to try another thing and started FSX in windowed mode and suddenly all lags were back (every item was delayed about 7-10 seconds). I will try this more in future if it really is depending on the windowed mode. Hopefully this can you.

Windows mode isn't something I want to do, but I'm not going to worry too much more about this problem as my days with FSX and this particular flight sim computer are coming to a close.  Maybe there'll be better luck with P3D and a new computer that's a clean slate.  For better or worse I find MCE essential now, so I'm crossing my fingers that this will be so.

That is strange, I always fly in Windowed mode and the flows work better than ever. I havent tried the AXE in a little while, has anybody found a point at which the flow start delaying?

One vital thing worth mentioning regarding scripts...

Whenever the speech reco is suspended, be it using the NumLock key or temporarily holding DELETE or END keys to talk to Native ATC or Vatsim online friends, the scripts will not carry on executing until you release those keys.

Maybe worth checking your FSUIPC assignments.

Make sure nothing is emulating these events by accident

DELETE key Down and UP

END key down and UP

SPACE BAR key down and up

No, I don't think it's any of that.  Also, the command "Pay Attention" still wakes him up as it normally did.  Probably a stupid question, but are you absolutely sure that the new fix found it's way into 2.5.7.8?

Hi Chaps,

I have just read this thread with some interest.

Whilst I have never had any major lag problems with any scripts, I do recall having a couple of issues, in the past.

What I did was to remove all the "pause" calls in the slow script.  This may be a bit idiotic of me, but it worked in my case and the flow was perfect from then on.

I cant recall which flow it was now, I think it may have been in the MD-11 pre start flow that I was modifying a little. It was a very long script!

Anyway, that's what I found, just remove the pause calls.

Come to think of it, the Vox Scripts I do now don't have any pauses in them?

Best Regards,

David

Affirmative, the previous issue whereby FO gets occasionally distracted while executing a script and having to deal with another direct command is definitely fixed in 2.5.7.8

There are some random delays (betweeen 1 and 2 seconds) injected into the app here and there, in order to make the FO more human and not pouncing on the overhead panel as some sort of switch flipper maniac.

These delays were intended for direct voice commands. Will have to look closely and make sure they don't apply to scripted commands.

The above has the potential to add 10 to 15 seconds to a long script. But we aren't talking about the script itself stalling.

Another thing that would speed your scripts a bit

I installed the new version which you have sent per mail and everything went fine for 3 or 4 flight. Then I crashed and when I restarted FS and MCE I had those lags (~10 seconds between the items) again.

I deleted the old mce.ini and then it works a little bit better. Hopefully this bug will be finally removed in future releases.

Try to switch OFF "Enable optimizations" in General/Options.

Hello!

I experience exactly the same delays during copilot flows using the Q400.

Switching OFF "Enable optimizations" doesnt help. Its possible to wake the copilot commanding "pay attention" as mentioned by KingGhidorah.
