Prepar3D 2.0 seems to do the same (put all the workload on the GPU), so I can't understand why it cannot hit 60 FPS even with dynamic lighting and shadows.

 

Perhaps it is because it has a world to model, not just Alaska or a small island chain.

maybe its the Ai and ATC along with a worldwide navigation database.

Or it could be the moving traffic on the roads.

 

Flight performed well because it was a severely stripped down game, not a sim.

Anyway its way past beating that old horse, the market voted so MS killed it.

AI aircraft in xplane, strangely, uses the fully computed flight model the same as the plane you are flying.

At least it gives the task to add'l cores though which is nice.
