November 25, 201312 yr It's in Prepar3D v2.0? Thanks Yes there is an optional startup screen which allows you to select aircraft, location, weather, season and time of day. It's not turned on by default but once you recover from hurtling down the runway in a F-22 with afterburners on (default flight) lol, it's easy to switch on  ~ Martin Smith
November 25, 201312 yr I have always enjoyed Simlauncher (download for free from the library) for my existing p3d 1.4 installation. I saw that there is a welcome screen included in this release, Simlauncher allows me easy access to all configurations files as well as ORBX scenery settings, so I think I might prefer this for the new version as well :-) Frank Olaf Sem-Jacobsen
November 25, 201312 yr I like the Startup Screen, except when I checked it to come on by default, the next time I started P3D, I was stuck with the Black Screen issue. Unchecking it got rid of the black screen. ~ Arwen ~ Home Airfield: KHIE
November 25, 201312 yr P3d2 assumed that my Saitek rudder pedals were a second 3 axis joystick with the toe brakes being a throttle and elevator LOL I had the same!!! You have to assign all axes manually because P3D makes a mess of it! It took me some time (and some odd fights) before I figured this out LOL About the startup screen: it's there and it's nice but I was very surprised you can't access the game options from there and you can't save a flight you created. Very odd. I like the Startup Screen, except when I checked it to come on by default, the next time I started P3D, I was stuck with the Black Screen issue. Unchecking it got rid of the black screen. I had the same problem. I fixed it by making sure P3D was in windowed mode before I shut P3D down. Because I usually forget that I now made a shortcut to the Prepar3D.CFG and everytime before I start P3D I check the CFG to see if FullScreen=False. If it is at True, simple type False. This totally prevents that black screen, even when you use the Startup Screen. EDIT And another odd thing is that you can't LOAD saved flights from that startup screen. You can't even load flights by double clicking on them, so it seems, which is a shame...

Yes, I expceted a little more from the start up screen, at least it should be possible to load saved flights from there.
