November 26, 201312 yr It runs well with P3D out of the box so far. Clouds are drawn the way I am used to it. With the new lighting it looks amazing even with default clouds. However since the whole system with fog (volumetric) and layering has dramatically changed, it looks kind of dull now. To much restricting layers now? It worked and looked well in 1.4 with draw-distance clipped to 80 miles. Performance was very good that way. I would like to keep the superior draw-distance P3Dv2 offers (and some blue sky as well). And of course would like to see the volumetric fog. Any advice or tips on what setting should be used? Cheers, Marcel
November 26, 201312 yr Commercial Member The same Recommended Practices as for other versions of P3D and FSX. There's no difference as far as OpusFSX is concerned, you will get the volumetric fog as and when determined by the surface and lower vis levels which Opus has always injected. Stephen :-)
November 26, 201312 yr Marcel, if you are running REX, I suggest you drop by their website as there is some information regarding settings for volumetric fog, cheers... November 26, 201312 yr Commercial Member I assume you are referring to textures and NOT the weather engine. As far as the Opus weather engine is concerned you do NOT need to do anything, just follow the Recommended Practices as usual. The fog will be there as and when the surface vis conditions require it. Stephen
November 26, 201312 yr Sure Stephen, my reply was aimed at settings within REX  HowardMSI Mag B650 Tomahawk MB, Ryzen7-7800X3D CPU@5ghz, Arctic AIO II 360 cooler, Nvidia RTX4090 GPU, 32gb DDR5@6000Mhz, SSD/2Tb+SSD/500Gb+OS, Corsair 1000W PSU, LG Ultragear 48"4K, MFG Crosswinds, TQ6 Throttle, Fulcrum One YokeMy FlightSim YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@skyhigh776
November 26, 201312 yr Author Wow, fast!! Thanks a lot. // the Recommended Practices as usual // Are there any particular/special Practices for v2? Since my rig is now able to draw much further out without any hit, I would like to see that represented with clear weather. Seems I have to go over the manual again... REX gave me some real strange results when using the same settings as in 1.4. But that was to ecspected. REX and opus was a dream-team in 1.4 for me. Im sure after a while it will be even better with v2...I will have a look on the REX-website as well. Thanks again for the help Marcel I assume you are referring to textures and NOT the weather engine. As far as the Opus weather engine is concerned you do NOT need to do anything, just follow the Recommended Practices as usual. The fog will be there as and when the surface vis conditions require it.Stephen
November 26, 201312 yr Is REX P3D v2 ready? REX works with P3D V2, but there is a fog issue. From here. You must be logged in REX and P3D v.2.0 Compatibility EDIT: Sorry Stephen, I didn't realize this was the OpusFSX forum. Cheers. Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
November 26, 201312 yr UT traffic v2 works fine FSUIPC cannot be set in P3D...but I see the modules folder populated in P3D Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 28, 201312 yr Author Back to topic: When ticking off volumetric fog, all looks well again... When on, a certain amount of fog is always present regardless of visibility. Marcel
November 28, 201312 yr Commercial Member Please download and try the new Beta Version 3.36.3.Note ... this beta is ONLY for testing with the P3D volumetric fog effect. There will be NO vis layers injected for normal weather so it is not suitable for FSX or if you have volumetric fog disabled in P3D. Cheryl
November 30, 201312 yr Is Opus injecting the correct temps in P3Dv2 or is it doing the 75c thing also?
November 30, 201312 yr Please download and try the new Beta Version 3.36.3. Cheryl Is your weather engine for FSX still in beta or are all of your payware programmes still "beta"? Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk
November 30, 201312 yr Commercial Member Is Opus injecting the correct temps in P3Dv2 or is it doing the 75c thing also? Nobody has reported OpusFSX problems with temps in P3Dv2. Cheryl Our Beta Development Program is different from others, when we introduce a new feature or change an existing feature the beta is posted asap for people to use then after a period of time we build a new release and post that. The Beta Development Program is always on going and prevents you have to wait weeks or months to make use of a new feature, change or upgrade. Stephen  Apart from the volumetric fog effect, there is no difference between the weather injection between FSX and P3D. Stephen
