December 25, 201312 yr Author Hi folks, here is an update on a PMDG ticket for the bug: "A/T arm" switch remains logically on when turned off in C&D. I wrote to PMDG (SUN, 2013-12-08): Turning the A/T arm switch(es) from on to off in cold and dark IS NOT RECOGNIZED by the (PMDG) T7 logic. It logically remains in the ON position although it is set physically and visually to OFF...One effect is e.g. that is possible to trigger TO/GA thrust with the TO/GA button although the A/T arm switch is visually off... PMDG answered (TUE, 2013-12-10): I have submitted the issue to the team to look into. If the fault is confirmed it should be addressed in a future update. Thanks for the information. (Quote end) Since then no more infos, but I think they have "an eye on it". Merry Christmas everybody, Claus Claus KUEPPER
January 6, 201412 yr Commercial Member Claus, your issue was fixed today for SP1. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
January 6, 201412 yr Well done Claus and Ryan :-) Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
January 8, 201412 yr Author Claus, your issue was fixed today for SP1. Big THX! Very much appreciated! I think there was/is a general MCP cockpit state save/load "issue", including these A/T-switches, but its just a guess. (< not a new ticket actually B) ) BTW: As a laptop user I am really looking forward to the announced (?) T7X performance manager. I have made very good experiences with the NGX using low res on model and textures and high res on instruments. The latter gives slightly better readability and "perfect" lighting effects while using low res VC setting inside FSX, which is very helpful for "on the edge"-machines like e.g. most laptops are... Perhaps one more question on this occasion: Is the mouse wheel turning option for RADIO/BARO and IN/HPA like in the NGX re-incorporated for the T7? Would be great because as a user of TrackIR and 3D vision it is much easier to handle... Greetings, Claus Claus KUEPPER

Would be great because as a user of TrackIR and 3D vision it is much easier to handle... Greetings, Claus This was dis-included because it's not how the 777 radio/baro and altimeter setting knobs actually work. The knobs have 3 (ok, 5 - Centre, Left, Right and "Very left" and "Very right") positions. Spring loaded to the middle, they can be pushed about 45° left or right. While they are deflected from the centre, the relevant number increases or decreases in value on the pfd. If 'held hard' up against the stop, they increase/decrease faster. When released, the knobs spring back to their central position and the relevant selections remain in place. You cannot rotate these knobs through a full turn, never mind spin them through several revolutions. To change your altimeter QNH from 1013 to 1034 you would grab the knob and deflect it to the right to the spring-stop. While the knob is deflected, the QNH setting will roll through 1014, 1015, 1016 etc... through to 1034. Once the desired setting is reached, you would release the knob and it would auto-spring back to the centre position, and QNH1034 would remain on the altimeter setting. If 'held hard' up against the stop, they increase/decrease faster. When released, the knobs spring back to their central position and the relevant selections remain in place. Wow! Thank you very much for this information! Didn't know that. So actually a mouse wheel turn function would make no sense at all. The two different speeds of the number's increase/decrease is then actually well simulated via the mouse buttons, although it is definitely more tricky while using TrackIR than in the NGX... January 8, 201412 yr Commercial Member So glad we took the time to ensure that was written into the intro manual... Kyle Rodgers
January 8, 201412 yr Author So glad we took the time to ensure that was written into the intro manual... You are absolutely right and there is no excuse for that  Actally today I thought how nice it would be to have all the manuals installed on a "Kindle Fire HD 7", sitting in the sun at a pool, drinking pina colada (without C2H6O for sure) and if reading gets a bit hard just switching over to one or two "Angle of Attack" videos... Unfortunately I am off for "daily RW duties" from 8:00 a.m. (bringing my two sons to the kindergarten), working in an "office", home again at 7:30 p.m. bringing the kids to bed if my wife did not already do so. So when I have time for FS I am almost always so tired that I can call the T7 "crew alertness monitor" a useful device to a: continue a flight from an "unintended" point or b: stop the sim and write something on Avsim... Weekends belong to the family and night time is my only chance... Kyle, I promise to you that I will read all the manuals (and not only parts of it) as soon as I have time to lend from actually simming! -_- Greetings, Claus Claus KUEPPER
January 8, 201412 yr Commercial Member Kyle, I promise to you that I will read all the manuals (and not only parts of it) as soon as I have time to lend from actually simming! haha - just the into manual would be a good start. That's the only one I tend to get upset over. The rest are good for looking up things you don't know when you come across it (I wouldn't dare read the FCOM like a book - character development isn't the greatest, and the writing is pretty dry). I probably just take it a little more personally because we, as the beta team, specifically took time to write out the things we knew you'd want to know, or that would trip you up, in an effort to save you from general frustration, or having to wait on a response here. ...and then I often just repeat what we wrote there, here. Just goes with the territory, I guess. Kyle Rodgers
January 8, 201412 yr Author ...and then I often just repeat what we wrote there, here. Just goes with the territory, I guess. It is perhaps like being a teacher in a big classroom full of quite enthusiastic pupils, but unfortunately a mix of all different grades. So keeping the enthusiasm while clarifying that the just said was a bit non sense is actually a difficult task. It is even more difficult when those students don't do their homework, e.g. read the manuals... But most of the people here are in for having a good time with their hobby, so "letting grace prevail against law" might be a good advisor. Thanks for Your patience, Kyle! Claus Claus KUEPPER

The two different speeds of the number's increase/decrease is then actually well simulated via the mouse buttons, although it is definitely more tricky while using TrackIR than in the NGX... Greetings, Claus I use TrackiR also and have trouble hitting click spots with that as well sometimes. One thing that could help you with the baro setting is:Go into the CDU. Then choose the PMDG function "PMDG setup/Options/key commands/EFIS Capt (or FO)/Baro fast rate" and assign a keyboard key (that is not used by FSX or anything else) to Baro Fast Rate. EDIT:After assigning a keyboard key to this function, if you then mouse click on the BARO selector, and then hit your keyboard key for fast mode once, you will find that the BARO setting will spin up/down real fast. The same can be done for the Minimums selector by the way. EDIT: About the drag for fast mode! At first I did it all wrong myself as well, but you should click and hold on the selector and then drag it a little bit only. Like in my case about 1-2 cm of mouse drag (does not matter in what direction) will result in the fast mode. I initially though that "drag for fast mode" meant that you have to keep dragging the mouse to make the numbers go up/down fast. But this just makes fast mode go on/off/on/off/on/off etc (which can hear by the switch going click/click/click/click). Rob Robson
January 9, 201412 yr Author Capt (or FO)/Baro fast rate" and assign a keyboard key That is what I also thought of to make "things easier", but actually as a user of TrackIR and 3D Vision2 I like handling the mouse as a (right hand) tactile device in 3D space. So I stick to the mouse button functions. Just an example: via a joystick button (left hand) I can activcate/deactivate the FSX mouse throttle axis. This way I can use the mouse wheel for thrust and the middle button is set for idle. Deactivating the mouse throttle axis returns the mouse to its normal functions... Greetings, Claus Claus KUEPPER
