November 27, 201312 yr Hi, I am currently considering whether to purchase the PMDG 747 for FS9 for some long haul flying. I am very impressed with the ifly 737 and since the PMDG 747 is now quite old, I was wondering how the two aircraft compare in terms of visuals, systems modelling or any other comparisons that will help me decide whether or not to purchase. Thanks, Kev
November 27, 201312 yr Commercial Member Hey Kev, if you are using FS9 I would highly recommend the PMDG 744 with the freighter expansion. I had thousands of hours over the years traveling the virtual globe. System wise it is one of the best aircraft out there. The PMDG MD11 is an absolute work of art... Rob Prest
November 28, 201312 yr Can't go wrong with the PMDG 747. Great add-on....one of the best IMHO. Regards, Joe Esposito
November 29, 201312 yr I can vouch for both, 744 & Md-11, but if you were to ask me Md-11 is the better choice. Don't blame for my name, my parents were hippies and met in Woodstock
November 29, 201312 yr I own all the aircraft mentioned, together with the Level D, Maddog and Airsimmer. Of the Boeing's I mostly fly the iFly. It is the most versatile and with V3.2 the systems are superior. To each there own however. The BBJ1 does not have the range of the 747-400 maxing at around 6,200nm but has ETOPS-180 certification. The iFly BBJ also displays a neat HUD.
November 30, 201312 yr First time I stepped back into the 744 VC after a lot of iFlying, the (out)dated visuals hit me a little. But that's natural, the iFly is much newer. VERY quickly, like within minutes it meant nothing again, because the 744 is a GREAT sim, big, deep and immersive. It is the duty of every serious fs9 advanced simmer to own it - period B) Regards, Mark
December 1, 201312 yr Great aircraft. If you are running a Triplehead as I am I have to load it up as follows or I get the circular mouse problem due to the resolution of 5760 x 1080. 1. Load the default Cessna in 2d panel in one screen only. 2. Change aircraft to PMDG 747 3. When 2d panel loads. Press W twice to unload the 2d panel. 4. Then you can change to VC and expand the image across the 3 screens and it will work fine. Do not load the 2d panel again. All the best FS9 Driver
