November 28, 201312 yr Comparing equally as possible visually, which will give better frame rate at heavy, busy airports? Aside, in above situation, which is less likely to OOM?
November 28, 201312 yr I sincerely hope that it is P3D DX11, because DX10 isn't any faster than DX9 in FSX on my PC. Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
November 28, 201312 yr Comparing equally as possible visually That's impossible really. If you set P3D up like FSX you have to turn off (for instance) tessellation which has an impact on the loading of textures. So by the time you set P3D up like FSX you will have disabled a few functions that let P3D run so good... and hence performance will be similar if not (and probably) worse than FSX because logically P3D optimized everything to work with DX11 and its options! You can't even run FSX with a DX9 or DX10 only card so LM didn't even LOOK at what could be possible without the DX11 enhancements. However, if you forget about DX11 related options like tessellation and simply use similar settings (keeping in mind that radius full right now is 6.5 instead of 4.5, so you will have to figure that all out!) performance is better easily. Unfortunately for you I don't fly around busy heavy airports and I don't have FSX installed anymore so I can't compare it. But when I see how much better P3D with all eye candy off performs than FSX did, I think P3D wins hands down.
November 28, 201312 yr I have UTX/Global and flew around KLGA with my GTX 680 and the performance is a lot worse in PP3D for some reason Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom
November 28, 201312 yr No one will ever, ever, ever, ever, forevah evah be able to accurately answer this.. The sheer amount of variables involved will result in nothing but contradicting user reports based off pure guessing and lack of understanding the hardware requirement differences between the two.. FSX is not the baseline anymore sorry.. The sheer amount of variables involved will result in nothing but contradicting user reports based off pure guessing and lack of understanding the hardware requirement differences between the two.. FSX is not the baseline anymore sorry.. That is such a cop out answer. Anything can be reasonably compared to get a valuable answer to judge by. We are not talking anal exact results here, just which is going to give better performance under heavy and similar situations.
November 29, 201312 yr I have UTX/Global and flew around KLGA with my GTX 680 and the performance is a lot worse in PP3D for some reason Ultimate terrain X isn't support in P3D afaik. Could possibly contribute to performance issues. AJ Pongress
November 29, 201312 yr That is such a cop out answer. Anything can be reasonably compared to get a valuable answer to judge by. We are not talking anal exact results here, just which is going to give better performance under heavy and similar situations. Similar situations? DX11. Given you have a Dx11 card. Though it's difficult to compare without "anal exact results", It's always going to be the newest rendering technology.
