How much VRAM does P3D v2 use on your system ?

Recommended Posts

I for one would still thank Word Not Allowed for doing careful tests. No human is error-free, however his results are much more valuable than those of people who sometimes gain attention by comparing results from configurations and systems being completely incomparable, as turns out soon.

Here's an oddity.  This was coming into FB's KPHX in the incredibly easy on frames CoolSky Super MD 80 Pro.  There were really no slider settings that helped frame rate coming in.  And note the relatively weak GPU utilization--this was not a case of 'lost focus'.  Moving Shadow Quality to Ultra bumps GPU use up by about 10% over what GPU use is at High.  This may point to some real optimization problems w/ addon airports, or some other variables.

While v2 wasn't the prettiest release I've seen it's more than obvious Beau and Wes are  two of the most knowledgeable and well organized developers I've ever seen and trust their "1GB" of VRAM recommendation.

Wrong, their 'recommended' is 2+ GB of GDDR5, their minimum was 1Gb.  Note the '+' ...

To answer the original question: 2.67GB is the highest I've seen. Never have had a OOM error, solid 30FPS and very smooth. See "My PC" for specs.

You know what I did? Read the P3D v1.4 box on the specs page.. That's where the 1GB came from..  Right intentions wrong data. ;)
