FSX running best ever

Featured Replies

Am I Just lucky??

I have recently done a total reinstall of windows (7) and obviously a clean install of FSX. I have been very careful this time to be very neat with the installation of every add-on, making sure everything has its own defined folder in the root of the drive and nothing in progsx86. I have applied Bojotes tweaks and defraged thoroughly. I use REX, Opus, FSCommander, FSGlobal, Shade, Ultimate Traffic2, Horizon scenery with RevolutionX and usually fly the Realair Duke or the twin otter extended.

Now here's my system:

Q6600 overclocked to 3.2

8800 GT

4gb RAM

Triplehead 3 monitors

A nice system when I built it 6 years ago!

However with all of the above running with autogen very dense, anisotropic filtering and all other sliders towards the right hand side I rareley drop below about 18fps on the ground and once in the air a solid 30fps. But more importantly it is smooth.

Maybe a clean well managed system is therefore half the battle?

Regards,

Tim
