January 3, 200521 yr Hello all :)Just curious to get some feedback on this cool-looking freeware: FlightSim Manager 2.7.0 (link below)Im just a bit hyper about overwriting old files with new ones (.dll's etc) so I get a bit apprehensive about auto-installer programmes like this. But this one looks too good to pass up!Would really appreciate hearing your experience/views on using this utility!Thanx :)FlightSim Manager 2.7.0:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...util&DLID=57797
January 3, 200521 yr Dodn't have any problems with the program. In fact I think is very good, It doesn't only track planes or scenery but also common problems in Landclass, missing gauges etc. Jos
January 3, 200521 yr I think its a great piece of software, and free to boot.I use it for relocating landclass files and checking for duplicate textures mainly.Check it outCheersPete :)
January 3, 200521 yr I love it! No problems whatsoever. It really takes the hassle out of installs and maintaining my FS directory.
January 3, 200521 yr Thank you for responding friends :)U have convinced me to get it, seems like it does take away a lot of the trouble of installing/unistalling stuff!
January 4, 200521 yr I think this is an outstanding program. I haven't had one single problem with it. Everything works fawlessly. I also want to extend my gratitude and say thanks to the author of this fine program.
January 4, 200521 yr Great program for organization. If you have a hanger full of aircraft, you can organize them into fleets and it will put the aircraft.cfg's of your seldom flown aircraft to sleep until you want to use them.Love the program.RTH
January 4, 200521 yr Really sounds like a great program! Cant wait to start using it!I think my greatest fear is of my non-flightsim family or friends "checking out" the program and inadvertently messing something up in FS9!Until I find a way of password-protecting Flightsim Managers .exe I wont install it! I've downloaded it though! :)Thanx again for the mini-reviews!!!
January 4, 200521 yr I'm not so sure. Just scanned my gauges and it's telling me I have 99 unused ones including - PMDG_737NG_Main_Panel_Synch, UltimateTraffic & UltimateTraffic2004. I somehow think it wouldn't be a smart move to delete these. - Dean P3Dv4 & XP11 space
January 4, 200521 yr Hi Nevin, I use FSM to manage my fleet, edit, modify aircraft, etc. Not gonna sit here and type every thing out, im just gonna say, if you edit aircraft alot, you will probally like it, even if you dont use it that much, its still nice to have.:-wave Chase Barnett
January 5, 200521 yr Author Because the ease of use i'm using it primarily for organising my AI traffic files. And it works like a charm. Great utility!Gerrit Gerrit
January 13, 200521 yr It seems to have something that frees up memory. what does that do (yes, free up memory :-) ) I'm not a big computer person. Does it have to be running at the same time as FS for the memory thingy to work?http://online.vatsimindicators.net/916312/3.png Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
January 20, 200521 yr >It seems to have something that frees up memory. what does>that do (yes, free up memory :-) ) I'm not a big computer>person. Does it have to be running at the same time as FS for>the memory thingy to work?>Hi Gavin, when you use windows, over time RAM becomes fragmented just like hard drive - some programs may close down but not clean the memory, OS cached files and other factors means available RAM to the operating system normally decreases over time. Freeup memory feature optimizes RAM by a) cleaning junk memory, and :( defragging it - resulting in more available RAM for the system. It doesn't run at the same time as FS - assuming you are not switching tasks while in FlightSimulator, above mentioned problem wouldn't really occur - so, there is no point of freeing memory.Nevin - I have looked at your comment, and the next release of FSM will have a password lock feature :)Dean - I personally don't have UT, but I had a beta user check it out. Indeed there are two files UltimateTraffic.gau and UltimateTraffic2004.gau in Gauges folder - and I will stand by FSM diagnostic. In the default installation of UT, neither of these two files are used.If you like FSM, keep your eyes open.. a new version will be released within couple of weeks with several new features that I am quite proud of.Finally, there is a forum available for FSM athttp://softwares.ranainside.com/- if there is any questions or suggestions you may have... please let me know.
