Performance Issue

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

Posted in the Majestic Forums too (would love to have a fix if there is one?):

Whilst I understand P3D V2 is not fully supported I wonder if anyone else is having a similar issue?

It seems to require an incredible lot of runway to accelerate to V1, V2 ! I think this may be down to using AS2012 for my weather (and the very high outside temperatures bug) ultimately I guess the performance of the aircraft would deteriorate based on this?

Could anyone confirm if they have this issue and if so any workarounds they may have to allow me to operate the aircraft normally, and not have to use 3000m runways!?

Many thanks in advance :)

Russ Bailey

Hi Russ, interesting you should find this, because I too have experienced the same in FSX and am unsure what the issue is.

Hi,

We need to know several parameters:

* Aircraft weight

* Airport altitude

* Wind direction (were you trying to take off with a tail wind? Q400 is certified up to 20 kts tailwind component)

* OAT (as displayed in the SAT window, bottom of the engine display)

Can you also check that both engines were producing maximum takeoff power, and not set to something lower?

Best regards,

Robin.

It happened to me then I found out that I had forgotten to lower the brake on the throttles...

Gust/Control lock (which also prevents the throttle from getting into the take-off range, so you can taxi with the locks on, but can't try to take-off with the ailerons locked.

Hi and many thanks for the replies.

OK looks like the performance issue is solely attributed to the SAT being 74C  !!!

The only fix is to manually edit the weather from the menu as far as I can tell?

well, or try to figure out why the sim thinks your temparture is 74C. are you taking off in a volcano?? :) what weather setup are you using?

The temp issue which you are experiencing is a known issue when using external weather injectors (ASN, AS2012, REX). If I remember correctly ASN and REX are both working on this fix for their weather platforms.
