Update today for the best 737-200 panel

Featured Replies

Copied from www.tinmouse.org10 Jan 2005 737-200 panel updateIt's not much different for appearance sake, but a lot of work has been done under the hood. This build fixes several autopilot bugs and is also a total rework of the CWS roll. It's very nice to use now and rock solid. The fifth speed bug has been removed as well as all the confusing click spots. By clicking on the ASI, all speed bug and the orange cursor will be automatically set based on weight and flap setting. Repeated clicking will cycle through available flap settings. Clicking on the ground sets them for takeoff, and clicking in the air sets them for landing. These match the speeds and settings in Marc's Flight Patterns guide. I also added some callouts. The copilot will call out 80 knots, V1, and rotate according to the speed bug settings. If your bugs are not set, these callouts will be wrong. In addition, there's a minimums callout as well as 2500, 1000, 500, 100, 50, 40, 30, 20, and 10 foot from the GPWS.

Was his site not down long enough for you the first time ?No ? OK, keep linking to it so maybe we can cash in his bandwidth for this month by the end of the week.

Regards,

Brian Doney

ummmm, yeah, I think tinmouse was down for a while. Still has a pretty good availability record, especially when you consider that he's paying for the internet connection and bandwith so that we can enjoy one of the best FREE panels on the market. And why would we want to keep linking to it to purposely crash it? Am I missing something? Can you elaborate? billg

OK, sure.I have actually talked privately with Richard about this just a day or two ago.His panels are "works in progress", they are open betas, yes. The idea is, to have a website available for those that would like to help him with BETA TESTING to do so, and have a way to distribute new builds, etc. That does not mean to post everytime he makes a simple gauge change, so 800 people download all over again, and totally kill his bandwidth.Seriously, relax on the linkage. When the panels reach a stage that he's happy with, I'm sure you'll see them here or elsewhere in a more complete package form.Nothing prevents you from completely ignoring this, but, outages just make it harder for the panels to progress, so if you wanna eventually see his panels completed, chill out.

I really like this panel. I like the community spirit that is going into creating/improving it. And I don't like a self-appointed flamer that seems to have nothing in common with that spirit spewing forth sarcasm because others have come here to sing its praise.I just went over to the tinmouse site and closely scrutinized the verbage posted there for mention of this open beta limited distribution concept. There's not a word of that there anywhere. In fact this is what it says:"This site provides a complete B737-200 Advanced add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. It brings together several separate projects: aerodynamics, visual model, instrument panel, sounds, and documentation." etcetera etceteraSooooo...737 Pilot, I'd like to offer you the use of a used crystal ball I still have left over from my Pentagon days...that way you might be able to read the minds of the Double-Secret Beta Police before you post and get flamed for stuff nobody could reasonably be expected to know. Finally, I don't know that the aforementioned spokesman is actually speaking for Richard Probst...even if he's factually correct, I strongly suspect Richard would not approve of the sarcasm and ridicule methodology that has been employed in his name here.CheerioBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Washington, DC

Thanks for your "insight" Bob.Lets address a few things here. First, I post on behalf of myself, and no one else. Keep that straight from now on. The only reference I made to Richard, was that I had discussed this issue with him privately, which I have. Do you need me to use smaller words next time ? Help avoid all this confusion, and the distortion of what was actually said, that you seem to be prone to ?Secondly, the entire issue I raised here is one of common sense, I guess that explains why so many, including yourself, are having trouble with the concept. I believe I've been thorough enough in my explanation, suggest printing it out to read later if ya dont get it by now. Finally, if ya don't like what I have to say, or how I say it, tough. Really. I'll tell ya what you can do with your crystal ball.

I absolutly love this panel. But some times i kinda wish there was a forum where we could get info from. Like right now if you go to the site there is an aircraft that is red and white with a rotating beacon under it and i don't know where to get it from, and can only use that yellow one with the panel and airfil. And would also like to know how you can use the panel and airfile with an other livery, but it is a panel that i use every day for sure. LOuis

Christ man, do you bloody winge and moan about everything?, not sure I have seen a friendly post from you on ANY forum, one of lifes complainers me thinks. Thanks to the original poster, I love this panel, and don't check the site very offen, so its nice to know there is an update.Dan.

>Christ man, do you bloody winge and moan about everything?,>not sure I have seen a friendly post from you on ANY forum,>one of lifes complainers me thinks.I guess I'm just not a very friendly person, Dan, deal with it, or ignore my posts. Really very simple. For the record, I'm not "complaining" about a #### thing.Let me ask, though, when his site runs out of bandwidth and is down for a week again, who does that serve ?>Thanks to the original poster, I love this panel, and don't>check the site very offen, so its nice to know there is an>update.>>Dan.It's really quite ironic; both you and Bob reference accessing the site, which you wouldn't have been able to do at all last week, because it wasn't there.

You are always moaning about something...........If Richard has such an issue with people downloading his fantastic panel why have it available at all?.Or....failing that upload to one of the many file libraries that are available, bandwidth issues solved. But for you to come on here and have a pop at someone just for making us aware that an update is available is bang out of order. If Richard has an issue, then maybe HE should make us aware of the problem HIMSELF?, heck maybe we can even contribute to his bandwidth for giving us such a great piece of software?.As for ignoring peoples posts, why did you not just ignore the original posters post?, rather than take it on yourself to be the "tinmouse.org" bandwidth police?.Your right, your not a very friendly person, there you go, something we can both agree on ;)Dan.

Rich has had www.tinmouse.org up for about a year now that I know of, and it's only been down once in that time. I think you worry to much Brian.

>You are always moaning about something...........Well, you and a few select others are always moaning back...pot=kettle sir.Or, just shut up and move on !>If Richard has such an issue with people downloading his>fantastic panel why have it available at all?.OK, obviously reading comprehension is not your strong suit.>Or....failing that upload to one of the many file libraries>that are available, bandwidth issues solved.Again, do you even bother reading before posting ?>But for you to come on here and have a pop at someone just for>making us aware that an update is available is bang out of>order.Your opinion, can't say that I really care too much about it, to be honest. I say what I want, when I want, until the powers that be say otherwise. Maybe start a petition to have me banned ?>If Richard has an issue, then maybe HE should make us aware of>the problem HIMSELF?, heck maybe we can even contribute to his>bandwidth for giving us such a great piece of software?.Why don't you do so anyway ? The fact is, the site was down for a week, besause it exceeded it's very high to begin with bandwidth retriction. This was caused, directly, by people running to post on all 4 corners of the internet with every change of a light switch, primarily with the 727 panel. What kind of genius waits for the site to come back up, only to do the same thing all over again ?>As for ignoring peoples posts, why did you not just ignore the>original posters post?,Because this is more fun ? I dunno, because this is exactly what took it down a week ago ? Because I'd like to continue working on the 727 ?>rather than take it on yourself to be>the "tinmouse.org" bandwidth police?.Once again, for your clarification now as well, I do not represent tinmouse or Richard. >Your right, your not a very friendly person, there you go,>something we can both agree on ;)Let it be the only thing.

Brian Doney

Hehehe, your a funny guy Brian, funny, but maybe a little troubled ;).What is ironic is that you replying to these posts is actually bumping this post back up to the top, thus causing more poeple to view it, and potentially more people visiting www.tinmouse.org :-lolDan.
