January 26, 201412 yr Today I flew the A2A Stratocruiser from Idlewild to the new O'Hare field in Chicago. Maybe not really accurate to fly the B377 on such a short flight, but it's the only really good propliner we have so far, I can't wait for the PMDG DC-6! It was a generally uneventful flight, but a 105-knot headwind slowed me down a lot. The weather at O'Hare could have been better, with quite some turbulence and windshear. My first landing had to be aborted, the second time I came in with less flaps and slightly more speed. It was a hard landing, but I couldn't really make it any softer in those conditions. Addons used: - A2A Stratocruiser - FTX Global - SweetFX - REX - Opus Weather - Freeware scenery for KJFK and KORD - CalClassics classic AI Enjoy! January 26, 201412 yr Gorgeous! 32,000 feet? I've been afraid to try to get that high. I had a cabin pressure failure at 24,000 once. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

Hook FL320 seems fine, the air is smoother and she is also a bit faster up there. 320 knots TAS at normal cruise power is possible. The service ceiling of the B377 is supposed to be FL340, I tried that once and the turbos were starting to run hot up there.
January 27, 201412 yr Big Girls with Big Radials.....Love'em Gee Patrick, that can be taken a couple of ways. I'll just say honest airplanes have propellers and leave it at that. Nice, though overlong (IMHO only) series. Beautiful airplane. Never had the nerve to try it. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
