I'd love to know how people with wives and/or kids manage to fly online regularly, given the that you're not supposed to pause the sim!

Also, simply saying "oh I tried VATSIM, not good enough" is pretty silly when there are countless users of FSX and X Plane who only fly on VATSIM because they think even RCv4 and add on traffic is boring and soulless because there are no humans. There are different needs and value judgments for simming.

I stated that Vatsim was not good enough for me and that is a correct statement for my circumstances.

As you correctly state "There are different needs and value judgments for simming" and I have judged Vatsim lacking for my needs. are you OK with that ?

I am a Shiftworker and the hours that I have available to fly means there is very poor ATC coverage on Vatsim  in the areas that I fly, therefore Vatsim does not fit my needs. never will.

I hope that helps you understand that some folks needs are different to yours.

I am still figuring this one out :)  I have a 1 year old son that runs all over the place and a wife that is less than thrilled about me being a gamer.

I limit my flights to within 3 hours (usually around 2).  If I need to leave for a walk or eat dinner, etc. I will contact the station monitoring me and ask for leave time... they have never turned me down and just ask me to check in when I get back.

Honestly... if you are over the atlantic there probably will not be much coverage and you can probably be gone for quite awhile.
