The v2.1 Successful Flight Log

Recommended Posts

There are quite a few threads/posts regarding testing, bugs and issues in P3D v2.1. Those are certainly important. However, I thought we should also have a thread regarding successful flights in v2.1. This isn’t meant to be a thread praising or bashing LM, just a log of successful flights. Perhaps we can learn as much from successful flights as we can from failed ones.

Here is a list of information I propose to be important to this discussion. Feel free to add, however, I think these might be the essential elements to examine. A clean copy is below to be “quoted” for further use. (And if this isn’t useful, I expect the thread to wither into oblivion).

I'll go second:

Did a little flight plan from my homemade K69 between Dewitt and Flat Lick, Kentucky ...its a fictional 2300 Ft 03/21 contrived to fit in our west field. I flew a gps flight plan from K 69 in my Lancair Legacy, my hot new fave GA to Decab Peachtree Airport KPDK ....let it fly AP whilst watching Florida beat the pants off of UK… Hangin ma haid… I've forgotten the flight and found it circling KPDK airport at 3500, about two hours later...just like it augtta..

...some stutters with the frames set a 25 FPS.

BTW I have found that ModelconverterX,v1.4, from Arno at FSdevelopers site, is now able to convert my older scenes that I created for mama Carnes farm. The 1.4 compatible files, available on the library here, converted to V2.1 compatible... a happy camper here!

Message to the guys & gals Who brought us 2.one

"Okay I've been trying to hold my tongue, and let you guys do your work with 2.1.

I realise how much you guys busted your balls for all of us!

I just want to say you've made your product shine and you should be proud of the work that you did on OUR product... So, on behalf of the entire aviation community, and I would've posted this on Avsim, but they're down right now ...

Congratulations!

Well done!

... sure they'll be little glitches but you have come up with a quantum leap in terms of the quality of this product and made it stand taller than ANY of them!!

It's not broken anymore, it's flying… Gloriously… and I'm just as happy as can be!

My wish?

For you Guys and gals, to walk away from it ...knowing that you did one hell of a job and take a break, hug one another, and pump that fist in the air!

...and kiss your "missing you" loved ones.....kick back and smile ...a big Sierra Echo one.

...because I sure as hell am!

I'll prolly see you on Monday with complaint or two ....biggest one is that you haven't figured out how to hook this damn thing up to my cerebellum!

… Night y'all

Chaz

ROUTE, TIME AND WEATHER: CYYT St-John, CYQX Gander. Sunday feb 16h, 19hzulu. Low IFR conditions

NOTES: Very interesting flight. St-John was low IFR and windy 18G27 Knots, 3/4 SM, VV003. Gander was even worse voercast 200ft. Just break from the cloud at the minimum.

Sceneries setting; medium for most of them.

Real Air Duke piston.

Some point I noted about this flight;

- Windsock animated in the gusty wind. I just saw it coming from the fog, nice effect..

- Rain much better now that the cone covers the whole surround.

- Approach was challenging with nothing in view until the last moment.. really immersing with rex cloud...

And... I screwed the approach (too high, too fast), overshot the ILS but managed somehow to land.
