March 4, 201412 yr Manchester used to be great until they totally revamped the airport and installed that new security checkpoint in Terminal 1. But they do welcome plane spotters, so I am very forgiving of this very airport! http://www.manchesterairport.co.uk/manweb.nsf/Content/concordeviewingpark Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!

Manchester is possibly the only airport in the UK to look at plane spotters as 'friends' and not allies. The majority of the London airports I have been to, to plane spot the Police stopped and questioned why I was there - I've never had that at Manchester regardless of where you stand!
March 4, 201412 yr Munich Int Airport is by far the most amazing and modern airport I have ever seen. It is more a work of art than a typical airport. March 4, 201412 yr Moderator My personal "worst airport ever" experience occurred in 1963 when our Pan Am flight to Tehran, Iran landed in Belgrade... ...not only were we not allowed to deplane, our aircraft was not parked at a gate, but had to stop quite a ways from the "terminal," they could not shut down the engines at all, and there was an armed cordon around the aircraft to enforce the restrictions. Only a few passengers deplaned at that stop, and at most ten passengers boarded the aircraft. I was a very scared and nervous thirteen year old. Man, was I ever glad to take off again! :LMAO: Fr. Although there are, apparently, uniformed armed men who will "assist" arrivals. This must be near the Crimean "Valley of Death" where the famed "Charge of the Light Brigade" took place. This stormy winter, however we can all see the charge of the light brigade when we receive our electric bills! "Oh, what a charge they made!" january
