UK2000 Stansted Xtreme frame rate issues

Featured Replies

Hello all,

has anybody else experienced low frame rates with UK2000's latest London-Stansted Xtreme scenery (V3.2)? Flying the Majestic Dash-8, I only average about 13-15 fps in the VC. Newcastle (EGNT), albeit smaller, works a lot better for me at 30+ fps. Even at highly detailed airports like Orbx's Brisbane (YBBN) I get at least 18-20 frames using the Q400. Knowing UK2000 sceneries as highly performance friendly, I wonder if there are any pointers as to why Stansted doesn't seem to be running as smooth. Many thanks.

Have you tried reinstalling it, Marius? I don't experience framerate issues at UK2000 Stansted Xtreme.

Hi

I use UK2000 Stansted Extreme with no FPS issues.

What's your AI level ? You have to appreciated the location of Stansted geographically places it in one of the busiest commercial airspaces in the world.

Traffic at Stansted, whether real or simulated, has to contend with flights arriving and departing from (London) Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Southend. High AI levels will definitely have a FPS impact.

Thanks guys!

I tried reinstalling but the result is the same.

I use quite high AI levels, and have considered the busy airspace of London, but thought that maybe Stansted wouldn't be too much affected by this given its remote location. 13-15 fps is also the lowest it goes (unfortunately on the runway...), on the tarmac near the terminals it goes up to 20. So I will try to lower my settings (or rather my expectations!).

Download AI Cull from the Avsim Lib. That will kill ai at other airports, and set it to 18000ft for ai enroute. So you will only have ai departing/arriving @ EGSS.

Looks very interesting. I wonder how it affects traffic addons like MTX. Do we still get traffic enroute?

It will only work with addons like MTX, as AI cull is for BGL based AI. UT@ has it's own cull system

In the settings, you can enable AI enroute. I set it to 18000ft

Stansted is sitting in the most populated airspace in the world, it is far from remote :-D

The journey from the airport to London's city center took longer than the flight to Stansted itself... ^_^
