March 18, 201412 yr I recently saw the announcement on their website, and could be interesting in getting it, as the price is cheap and I know the 195 is a renowned classic aircraft. And it looks pretty (: Anyone have experience with it?
March 18, 201412 yr It is pretty, it's nicely modelled and sounds very good. I can't comment on the flying characteristics but it seems to need armfuls of nose down trim to get it to fly level. I've checked out my controls and they in ordnung. Apart from that it's OK.(cue people who have flown one) On the whole a nice one to buy, I mean, $23! The World is divided into two groups. March 18, 201412 yr Author On the whole a nice one to buy, I mean, $23!Can't beat that! I've been losing interest/haven't had time to invest in FSX, and haven't had any time to reinstall my countless FSX addons following a hard drive crash, so I've been looking for a nice jumpstart to reignite my FSX fever, and the C195 looks to be just that!

Agreed. Personally, I find it one of the least enjoyable Alabeo releases to fly in terms of flight handling charateristics. I bought it on the day of release so am hoping the FDE may be improved upon at some point. I think Carenado/Alabeo have done some nice FDE lately (Malibu, B1900, Tomahawk) but this one I just cannot get away with, and it's deleted from my HD until I read of an alternative FDE being released. It sure is pretty though
March 18, 201412 yr Author I find it one of the least enjoyable Alabeo releases to fly in terms of flight handling charateristics. And why's that Dave?
March 18, 201412 yr Probably because, as Ron mentioned above, it needs a really significant amount of nose down trim to stay level. A real looker tho' Neil Burgess
March 18, 201412 yr And why's that Dave? It's hard to convey, but to me in just lacks 'weight' and is too pitchy on the elevator. It also, as Ron said, required almost full ND trim in order to fly straight and level, which doesn't seem right. But this is just my subjective view on it, based on comparisons with other recent CAR / ALB offerings, where the experience of flight just seemed in line with how you would expect the relevent aircraft to handle. As with everything in the FS world, individual viewpoints can differ sharply and some people may love flying this plane. Just not me!
March 18, 201412 yr Not just me then. I have to say that I simply wind on the ND trim and throttle on! Does anyone else have trouble getting a three point landing out of her? I've managed a couple but it required more backward hauling on the yoke than felt...right. Just finished a nice paint of G-BBYE. Well, I think it's nice. ADVERTISEMENT The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
March 18, 201412 yr Author I'm gonna go ahead and break and buy the thing when I get home, then we'll see if the wonky flight model bugs me to a point of unpleasantness. Can't go wrong with a 20 dollar classic! ADVERTISEMENT Oooh very pretty!
March 19, 201412 yr Author Bought it, have had a few flights with her tonight, if anyone wants a mini-review I'd gladly compose one.
March 27, 201412 yr Bought it, have had a few flights with her tonight, if anyone wants a mini-review I'd gladly compose one. Was tempted by this, as it is good value and I have been very pleased with all of the Alabeo aircraft I have bought up until now, but have been a little put off by what I have read above, so a mini-review would be appreciated when you have the time. Bill
March 27, 201412 yr Bill, she's good as gold mate. Just remember the trimwheel animation is wrong (wind it up to about 3 notches DOWN from full nose down. That make sense?) Well worth $23 IMHO  The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA

Bill Hey Bill, I actually posted a member review of the plane. Available right here: http://forum.avsim.net/reviews/content/15-the-c195-businessliner/#review Hope it helps!

Well worth $23 IMHO  Thanks Ron - if the trim is the only problem I will give it a spin as it is an aircraft I have always wanted! As you say great value too (and I have absolutely no FSX willpower!!) Hey Bill, I actually posted a member review of the plane. Available right here: http://forum.avsim.net/reviews/content/15-the-c195-businessliner/#review Hope it help Thank you for directing me there Jackson - despite the low FPS which is a bit surprising (probably related to the nice textures I guess), you seem to score it pretty well overall, so I will satisfy my temptation! Bill
March 27, 201412 yr Author despite the low FPS which is a bit surprising Yea I thought so too. To be fair, and I think I pointed it out in the review, I rather hastily re-installed FSX when I bought the 195. I only put a few essential tweaks in, and then rammed every slider I could to the right. The FPS probably won't be an issue to someone with a stable FSX platform, at least I hope.
