March 25, 201412 yr Ok, I should be careful of what I say, people with a 770/780/TITAN are seeing more FPS with bloom on. Haven't checked to see how other cards perform Regards And the 580. Important...Bloom sliders in the fixer must be set to 60 for fps benefit. March 26, 201412 yr Moreover i switched ON VC shadows for PMDG 777 - it is amazing) Didn't know it would work for the 777, I'll try when I get home It's excellent on the AXE Jude BradleyBeech Baron: Uh, Tower, verify you want me to taxi in front of the 747?ATC: Yeah, it's OK. March 26, 201412 yr @Maks_Pathfinder, what do you meen with "switched ON"...aren't they switched on at default settings? I'm asking because Im new to DX10 and the fixer, but I absolutely love it! Incredibke better performance and no single lag or OOM! Greetings from Germany, Florian
March 26, 201412 yr Commercial Member Haha, read the manual! It isn't a simple case of flicking a switch. some very simple but careful steps must be followed. Out of everything in the documentation cockpit shadows are the one thing that can badly go wrong if you don't follow the instructions Rob Prest
March 26, 201412 yr For some reason, the VC shadows don't work in the AAX. In the PMDG T7 it works very well after altering the .mdl file according to the manual. I thought this step wouldn't be necessary in the AAX? In the A2A C172 and RealAir Turbine Duke the shadows worked flawlessly.

Incredibke better performance and no single lag or OOM! You have to start DX10 Toolbox which is located in Fixer folder, then select option "Forced VC shadows" or something like this, do not remember exact wording. After that in pop-up window you have to select panel.mdl file of your 777 (do not forget to back up it first!) This file will be modified by Fixer. Then close Toolbox and start Fixer and tick all options for VC Shadows. Everything should work now. Regarding perfomance hit - with my config (I4770k 4.5 and 780 card) - almost no any impact to fps. But your experience may vary:) Also noted that edges of the shadows are little rough - but i can handle it Maks Turchanov
March 26, 201412 yr Commercial Member Maks, you can AA the shadows. I haven't tried it since they look fine without it. Rob Prest
March 26, 201412 yr (do not forget to back up it first!) Actually, the fixer toolbox backs up the mdl file for you... but I suppose to be really safe, it might be prudent to manually copy it as well. March 26, 201412 yr Commercial Member Any ideas concerning the non functional VC shadows in the AAX? Don't fly the product but have it installed. Will give it a test and report back.. Am surprised this hasn't been moved, should really be in the DX10 forum. Regards Rob Prest
March 26, 201412 yr Moreover i switched ON VC shadows for PMDG 777 - it is amazing) How (ticking Jet VC Shadows in the DX10 fixer - no pop up window)? Michael Michael Moe
March 26, 201412 yr Michael, did you modified panel.mdl file by Fixer Toolbox? Otherwise it will not work properly Maks Turchanov
March 26, 201412 yr Commercial Member He probably applied it to the wrong model. Just tried it, the shadows actually look beautiful in the AAX, better then the 777. I actually see shadows on the glareshield. And once again guy's read the "£$%^" manual, don't ask for how to's on the forum. Follow the clear and accurate instructions with the product. Rob Prest
March 26, 201412 yr Rob what did yoy mean by "applying AA to shadows"? is there some special adjustment necessary? Maks Turchanov
