March 28, 201412 yr Hi Luke, thanks for the instructions. But there is something weird for me. I don't have the same screen4 like you. I only have the top of the windows where I can choose the number of aircraft and two radio buttons to the right labelled like on your screenshot : - save all craft in preferences - randomize craft each load. I don't have all the choices below like yours. I have the latest version 10.25 and using the 64-bit version. Stephane If you have the Wold Traffic Plugin you need to disable it. Best to do it prior to loading up Xplane.
March 28, 201412 yr I don't have World Traffic, and I can't see the different aircraft. I will try to post a screenshot tomorrow. Stephane LI-THIAO-TE Envoyé de mon iPad à l'aide de Tapatalk Location : FMEE

March 29, 201412 yr Hello, Problem solved. it was the X-Ivap Plugin. I can choose the aircraft now. But I am not statisfied because I had some AI Aircraft taxiing into the building and having an Air Canada's B727 in hannover is not too realistic :-). So I'll stick to no traffic for the time being. March 29, 201412 yr Yes I agree it's very limited! I tend to pick the aircraft that would be seen on the route I intend to fly for every flight...but that is a bit of an inconvenience. It is also annoying that they taxi through vehicles, but I do feel it adds a lot to see other aircraft on the tcas display and to get the occasional tcas warning. It's also quite atmospheric to see other aircraft in cruise!
March 29, 201412 yr If WorldTraffic could ever get some serious backing it could fill the void as I have had close to a hundred AI in the Air at one time with no major fps hit.
April 11, 201511 yr Do AI have flight plans or do they just fly to a set position ? Trying to get a better understanding of how the AI model works
August 13, 20169 yr I know this post is old, but am i to understand that X plane has been out for years right along with FSX, and it still does not have good software support. No traffic in airports in all those years, how did you X planers do it. and World traffic is all they have to offer.
August 14, 20169 yr No traffic in airports in all those years, how did you X planers do it. and World traffic is all they have to offer. The default AI in X-Plane is a quite a bit different than FSX, you have to assign it planes from your airplane folder and depending on the planes you assign it can be quite resource intensive. This is why most people don't fly with it. However, there are stripped down ACF's on x-plane.org speciffically designed for the AI that are friendly on the FPS. Fortunately, it's still fairly smart about taxiing planes around airports that lack custom taxi flows. Also, you can assign helicopters to the AI which I don't think FSX can do (I haven't flown FSX in years and when I did, I usually disabled the traffic for performance reasons). Alternatively you can use World Traffic or X-Life for your AI, these are both payware that offer AI similar to FSX, They use their own AI engines and AI planes. World Traffic is the more mature of the two products but it has a reputation of being a bit difficult to setup, while X-Life is more a "works right out of the box" solution, the official list of supported airports is limited -- but the product looks very promising. However, with X-Plane 10.50 they now have random static aircraft at the gates which IMO really works well in conjunction with the default AI. I have about 4-5 AI planes assigned which provides realistic enough traffic, while the rest of the static aircraft populates the airports with enough clutter to make them look realistic without any significant performance impact.
