New GPWS gauge

Featured Replies

Same here! Sorry Rob! I have messed up a few things, you know the usual story. Gauge works a treat now in my King Air.Roland

Does this differ in any way from the GPWS that comes with FS CoPilot?http://www.mcdu.com/en/fscopilot.php

There is a work around available here. You can change the file name entries in the sound.ini file. One of the most important features of the newer version of the sound gauge is (I think) the fact that it won't crash the sim if you attempt to play a non-existent file. For example, change this:Sound18=./Sound/GPWS/TooLowFlaps.wavto thisSound18=./Sound/GPWS/TooLowFlaps.wavZand you won't hear the "Too Low - Flaps" warning. If you are going to make changes like this to the .ini file, make sure they are of the trivial, easy to see and undo kind, in case you don't like the results! Also, please don't do this without first making a backup copy of the .ini file.Doug Dawson

Hi Doug (and others who read this):This suggestion is not quite correct in general.Reason: the gauge state (or gauge state changes) may depend on the "finishing" playing a sound. Now, when the soundfile is not found (because it is removed or renamed in the ini file), the soundvariable probably won't be reset to zero because the sound is not finished playing.. right ??I.o.w.: although FS will not crash because the soundfile is not found, it MAY influence the gauge behaviour...Cheers, Rob

Hi "edam",I really can't answer this, since I don't use FS Copilot. Please check the README of my gauge, so you can see what it does and compare it with the functionality of FS Copilot.Regards, Rob
