February 3, 200521 yr Maybe this is the answer we've been looking for for the Project Fokker GPWS that won't shut up no matter how good your approach.
February 3, 200521 yr That does sound very interesting Rob.If I'm reading correctly you can for instance disable all aural warnings except Windshear thus making it a nice add-on for for instance the PMDG 737NG? (Which does have most GPWS functions, except for the Windshear.)
February 3, 200521 yr Hi David,Well, I don't own the PMDG 737NG, so I can't make a comparisson. In this version of my gauge it's not possible to disable the various warning modes individually, but that wouldn't be difficult to add in a next version (which I'm sure I will make with sufficient improvement suggestions). As an appetiser :-) , I've attached my Readme to this post.Cheers, Rob
February 4, 200521 yr Thankyou very much Rob! ..I have made a dedication to yourself and Doug in the AVSIM screenies forum! :-hahregardsEdhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/103908.jpg My FS Videos
February 4, 200521 yr Hi Ed,Thanks. Great pics over there...But.. Who is Rob Barengt ?? :-)Cheers, Rob Barendregt
February 4, 200521 yr Hi Rob,I have installed all the files and the gauge shows up allright even displaying the correct color bars but I don't get warning or alt-call-out sounds and wonder whether the GPWS_sound!dsd_xml_sound3 entry in the panel.cfg is correct. There is no such folder/file in the download!I have fiddled around with renaming the gauge entry in the panel.cfg, etc. but couldn't find a solution.Any idea?Roland
February 4, 200521 yr Hi Roland,I checked the .zip file, but it seems OK.Check the following:- In panel.cfg, the line should read:gauge**=GPWS_Sound!dsd_xml_sound3, 0,0,,, ./sound/GPWS/Sound.iniwith ** being a UNUSED number. So NOT equal to the gaugenumber of the rcb-gauges!GPWS gauge.(see example for the B747).Also note the comma's and dots in the definition !!- The main gauges folder should contain file GPWS_Sound.gau- In the main sound folder, there should be a subfolder GPWS that contains a number of .wav files and a file Sound.iniIf all of this is correct, Email me your panel.cfgIf you found the error, please report here.Rob
February 4, 200521 yr Rob,I've reinstalled all your files according to the readme instructions and now FS9 hangs when loading the plane with ntdll.dll being the culprit.I have to admit that I am trying to install your gauge into the Aeroworx King Air B200, which has a very very complex panel using a lot of subpanels. Maybe it's just some sort of incompability.I am going to e-mail you the plane's panel.cfg right now, in order for you to see that I did nothing wrong.
February 4, 200521 yr Superb, well done Rob.BUT, I think I have found a bug. I also use your pushback gauge and since adding the GPWS the a/c turns the wrong way after pushing back. Not a big problem (just choose the opposite direction) but I thought I would let you know.
February 4, 200521 yr Sorry Rob, must have just been a glitch. Everything seems to be running ok now. How could I doubt you!
