April 12, 201412 yr For those who are struggling with cloud shadows; from a bit of testing I found that the difference in cloud coverage density between the 'high' and 'maximum' settings has a very large impact on FPS. Using an ASN overcast scenario (default cloud textures), maximum cloud coverage density really stalls my GPU (780Ti). Difference is about 20 FPS. I am sticking with high for now, though overcast does not look nearly as awesome unfortunately. Best regards, Alexander Rietveld
April 12, 201412 yr If your puter is struggling with clouds, you might consider one of the other weather programs. ASN is very good...but for where it shines best, you need to run it with full details enabled. If not, you might find one of the other weather alternatives just as good....and lighter on your cpu too. For general purpose weather, you might consider Opus. Fsgrw is excellent, and perhaps lighter on the cpu than ASN... As it produces less cloud layers, but you'd need to up the details to get the best renditions. ASN of course can full.... And I do mean... Full your sky with clouds.... Which is truly a great experience cpu permitting.

April 14, 201412 yr hmm everytime i change settings it gets worse . Tried the OP settings and i am at 10-12 fps in Seattle in the Carenado Bonanza. I still get these ground scrambles even with AF=16 . Do i have to restart PC every time i change a thing. FPS is the same with Autogen at max or normal right now. Michael Michael Moe
