FS9 using nearly 100% CPU

Featured Replies

Is it normal for FS9 as soon as it is loaded and your aircraft positioned at the gate, for the application to be using between 95-100 % CPU - even without egines started. If this is not usual, any suggestions as to what may be the problem?

Thanks Bert,I really hadn't noticed it before and thought I had picked up a virus or something.

Stuart,If ever you notice the CPU utilisation being that high the best thing to do is open up task manager (ctrl + alt + delete then "Task Manager"), check the running processes and locate the culprit using that much CPU. Do a google and type the name into the search box. Many sites will inform you of what kind of process this is and if it's malicious. Also, ensure you're anti-virus is up to date (the best imho is NOD32) and ensure you're anti-spyware program is also up to date. You should regularly perform scans on your computer.James

James, these are good tips. But in Stuart's case 100 % CPU use is nothing to worry about. FS9 (BTW also FS2002) utilizes 100 % of the CPU (I even wonder, that James stated between 95 % and 100 %).Wolfgang

My PC is also at 100 % with FS9 since two years. No problem.Roger

See my specs in my profile

I have a HT CPU....3ghz...I turned HT off and it improved my FS9 performance. My CPU now runs at 100%
